Week 10 - Challenge 1- Attachment Feature Creation (Ribs & Screw Boss)

ATTACHMENT FEATURES SREWBOSS AND RIBS

objective is to create the door handle from given a surface

A SURFACE

TOOLING DIRECTION

Before creating the surface tooling direction must be created. for that a point has been taken in the a surface and created vertical line according its perpendicular direction .

line created in the class a is examined by draft analysis command for any negative draft.

CREATION OF CLASS B

TO CREATE B SURFACE, CLASS A MUST BE OFFSETED FOR 2.5MM WHICH IS THICKNESS OF THE COMPONENT.

After offsetting some surface patches can be missed due to edge fillets of the component.

To solve this multi sectionsurface command is used after extracting the required surfaces for the command.

the surface created must br joined using the join command.

once all the surface patches filled it has to be extrapolated for minimum mm for trimming the surface with c surface.

C SURFACE CREATION

c surface is created by using sweep command with respective to the A -surface

A AND C JOIN

RIB DESIGN

  • Ribs are used to provide some external support for the component.
  • there are some certain rules to create ribs.

to avoid sink marks on the a surface above consideration must be followed

screw boss

DRAFT ANALYSIS

GREEN AREAS ON THE COMPONENT SHOWS THAT THE COMPONENT IS MANUFACTURABLE AT MINIMUM DRAFT ANGLE 0.5 DEGREE
