Challenge

Week 10 - Challenge 1- Attachment Feature Creation (Ribs & Screw Boss)

Detail report

Tooling axis- The tooling axis is the axis in which the 2 halfs of the mould is open and for the tooling axis we have to find if their is a hole or circular part or a plain surface in this part we use the plain surface as our main surface for tooling axis this is my dummy tooling axis and by the use of draft analysis we found that our tooling axis clearing the part so this dummy tooling aixs act as main tooling axis

Draft analysis - For the draft analysis we offset the class-A to 2.5 in the outward direction (away from class-A) now we hight the class-B ( the offseted class-A which act as class B) now we use the sweep as we know that for this part we creat a full boundary and use the command which is 90 degree to the surface and then we trim it with the class B surface and now we get the class C surface on this we go to part design work bench and use the close command to close the surface which is acted as final part and then we use the draft analysis again

Ribs, screw boss

ribs- for ribs we use the base surface as our main surface for which we exract it and make a sketch by creating a plain on it for ribs according to the theortical values if we go with it our design will not match with the final one so we created it the sketch which is approx. similar to the final one for it we created a line and extrude it and then thickiness surface is 0.5* the thickness of the component so we give 1.25 mm and then union trim it and draft it which is 0.5 degree and then give the fillit radius to 0.25

screw boss

for the screw boss we choose the same plain to creating the sketch and as the value of the screw boss not give properly so we use the m4 screw which means the inner radius is 4 and the outer radius is 2.5* inner diameter and then we trim it with the main part and we give the draft to 0.5 degree the wall thickness is 0.6 times the thickness of the component and the hight will be in the ratio of 3:1
