Week 10 - Challenge 1- Attachment Feature Creation (Ribs & Screw Boss)

As a matter of some importance, we need to take a look at the progression of the given class A surface to guarantee class A surface is appropriately joined or that no intermittence is available. In Catia, the join or boundary commands can be used to accomplish this. By looking outwardly we see that the surface has a persistently associated limit as featured by the green line. When we extract the boundary of a particular class A surface, we also visually verify continuity. The fan cover model shown below has continuity in the class A surface. The subsequent stage is to choose a tooling course. The mold or core & cavity open in the direction of the tooling axis. Visually examining the model to determine which direction is best for the tooling axis. The image below reveals that the surface has a cutout on the sides and a hole at its top. We need a side core for the top hole from the Y direction as the tooling axis, as shown in the image below, which raises mold costs. We will now use the bisecting method to locate the actual tooling axis. Embed pivot framework. Consider where the ZX plane meets the class A surface. The two curves will be ours. Now we need to determine which surface will pose a problem or make tooling difficult. because the surface will be cleared at 90 degrees to the tolling axis. So we need to check the surface which falsehood lined up with the tooling pivot bearing. Utilizing a point-to-point direction, draw a line along a parallel surface. Now that we have two lines here, we will divide them and choose a vertical direction. Our Y-direction tooling axis will be this. Likewise, we cross the XZ plane of the hub framework with the class A surface and rehash a similar technique. Presently we have two pivots for example Tooling clearing X pivot and tooling clearing Y hub. We will cut up these two hub to get our last tooling pivot

To perform a draft examination. Go to the draft analysis section and insert "Analysis." Before that, select material as the customize view parameter mode. We will obtain our results by aligning the compass icon with the tooling axis and clicking on the surface. As can be seen in the image above, the green surface has a draft of more than 3 degrees, which is the minimum requirement for tooling feasibility. Illustration of the model in various orientations with the appropriate colour code for the draft angle
