Bullet Penetrating a Bucket Challenge
Aim:
To simulate a bullet penetrating into a bucket in ANSYS-WORKBENCH.
Objective:
We must use 3 different nonlinear materials for the bucket and analyse their behaviour for the same velocity of bullet. Attach an animation to show the behaviour in the three cases.
Procedure:
First, we will be importing the geometry into the workbench and check for geometrical errors.

Then we will be providing mesh for the case setup model by using Edge Sizing feature to get a better mesh of the bucket part.

The final meshed model obtained is shown in the image below.

Finally, we will be providing boundary conditions for the case setup model by providing Fixed Support for the bottom of the bucket by selecting the face as shown in the image below.

Then we will be providing a velocity for the bullet part by selecting the whole bullet body and providing the time step with the velocity value.

Conclusion:
From the results we can see that the Max. Total Deformation is nearly the same for the Cases 1 and 2 i.e., for the materials Aluminium Alloy NL and Copper Alloy NL but it is less for Case 3 i.e., for the material Stainless Steel NL.
Comparing the values of Max. Equivalent Stress, we can say that the values of Cases 1 and 2 does not have much of a difference i.e., the materials Aluminium Alloy NL and Copper Alloy NL while the value of Case 3 i.e., the material Stainless Steel NL experiences very high Stress.
From the simulation results we can see that material behaviour of Case 3 is greater than Case 2 which in return is greater than Case 1. So, we can conclude that the material behaviour of Case 1 is the least when compared to Cases 2 and 3.
