Week 1 Stress Concentration on a Plate with hole
AIM:-To perform linear analysis for plate considering the hole in it.
THEORY:-

PROCEDURE:-
- Open the Ansys workbench and click on static structural

- Selecting analysis type as static structural

- After selecting that we need to specify the data like material, geometry, etc...
- To specify the material we need to double click on engineering data

- To specify the new material we need to select the engineering data source.
- And we need to select the material and we need to click on the + symbol to add to material data.

- To check whether the material is created or not we need to go to filter engineering data

- Now material creation is completed so, we need to create geometry
- To create geometry we had two cad software one is design modeler and space claim
- We can use any of them
- I am choosing a space claim modeler to create the geometry

- Then we will enter into the space claim window by using the geometry creation tools and create a geometry

- By using the pull option extrude the surface
- To measure the dimension we need select the shift and the points

- After creating the geometry we need to go to the mesh module '
- There we can find the option as mesh and give mesh size as six and click generate mesh

- Then we need to give boundary conditions to the component
- To give we need to go to loads and select the faces and give bcs

RESULTS:-
- This total deformation for case 1
- The max deformation is 0.000442 mm
- The deformation is pretty enough

- This total deformation for case 2
- The max deformation is 0.000446 mm
- The deformation is a bit higher than case 1 but it is enough

- The component of case 1 has maximum stress as 0.923 Mpa

- The component of case 2 has maximum stress as 0.87076 Mpa

JUSTIFICATION:-
- As we can see both components having the same deformation values and minute change in stress mass
- Both components are safe we can use them for design
- But if we consider the stress concentration factor then design 2 is best the stress is distributed to the holes
- If consider the production cost we can take case 1 there no much difference it is negilabel
- The factor of safety of component is high compared to case 1 but both are safer
- Varun SiddharthSimple and clear work sir. I like the way you represented the analytical documents. The images are more than enough to say about your work. Best wishes.
