Week 1- Mixing Tee
Case 1
- Short mixing tee with a hot inlet velocity of 3m/s.
- Momentum ratio of 2, 4.
CASE SETUP:
- we have to import the given mixing tee diagram in the space claim (Geomentry). And supress the required shape for physics.
- Name the boundary (inlet, oulet, walls) and generate the mesh.
- In setup we give the magnitude for the boundary conditions and create Turbulence models. Run calculation for 150 iterations.
- The values of the simulation is viewed in the post processing eg(temparature, velocity).

| CASE | CELL COUNT | AVG OUTLET TEMP (K) | NO. OF. ITERATIONS |
| SHORT TEE (MOMENTUM RATIO 2) | 1,06,751 | 302.439 | 190 |
| SHORT TEE (MOMENTUM RATIO 4) | 1,06,751 | 304.16 | 200 |
| LONG TEE (MOMENTUM RATIO 2) | 1,41,510 | 302.3 | 225 |
| LONG TEE (MOMENTUM RATIO 4) | 1,41,510 | 304.08 | 250 |
CONCLUSIONS :
- For the short mixing, it is observed that at the outlet the temparature distribution drops down significantly due to the uneven mixing.
- For the long mixing, the mixing is little even than compared to that of the previous case averaged tepmarature obtained at the outlet.
- At the walls the boundary conditions is no slip conditions which is obtained from the yplus for all the three cases.
- whereas, K-epsilon and K-omega predicts the boundary condditon well near the walls.
- As increasesing the length of the model doesn't result in massive change at the outlet temparature. The standard deviation id lesser for the long tee.
- Increasesing the momentum ratio has resulted in the decrease in the average outlet temparature and also the increase in the time taken to converge the solution.
