Multiphysics Platform
The foundation of GT-SUITE is a versatile multi-physics platform for constructing models of general systems based on many underlying fundamental libraries:
- Flow library (any fluid, gas or liquid or mixture)
- Acoustics library (both non-linear and linear)
- Thermal library (all types of heat transfer)
- Mechanical library (kinematics, multi-body dynamics, frequency domain)
- Electric and Electromagnetic library (circuits, electromechanical devices)
- Chemistry library (chemical kinetics)
- Controls library (signal processing)
- Built-in 3D CFD and 3D FE (thermal and structural)
Modern Software and unique capabilities
(1) Fusion of 1D and 3D simulation in one tool
(2) Imports solid models from CAD to create 1D and 3D models
(3) Performs embedded 3D(CFD) and 3D FE thermal /structural modeling with all boundry conditions provided by the simulated surrounding complete system

In addition to the above, GT also bundles various tools and models:
2. Locate the following settings:
Time Control Flag:
- Open the GUI of GT_suite and open the flow control Tab>Home Tab > RunSetup >Time Control. In the given table the Time Control Flag is Available

Time control flag are of two type continous and periodic used according to case setup. For Engine application Time control flag is periodic and for other applications continous option. In max. simulation Duration we define time for which setup will run to get converged solution.
Time step and solution control
- Open the GUI of GT_suite and open the flow control Tab>Home Tab > RunSetup >Flow Control. There we can observe the Time Step and Solution Control

Time step define duration of simulation result to converge. we can control time step and solution with option automatic shut off when steady state . with on option when solution converge it will automatically stop run setup.
Integrator/Solver type
- Open the GUI of GT_suite and open the flow control Tab>Home Tab > RunSetup >ODE Control. There we can observe the Integrator/Solver Type

Explore the intercooler tutorial and note down all settings of:
- Run setup
- Advanced setup
- Plot setup
- Output setup
Open the Gt suite and click on Files and then select Tutorials then select Engine Performance and then 6cylDITurbo and then select the intercooler_final.gtm
Thus the intercooler set up will pop up on the screen.

Run Setup
- In this module all the settings are done according to the results of our Simulation to obtain the exactly results. It Contains the different Setups like Time Control,Intialization,Flow Control,ODE Control,Signal Control,Thermal Control,Convergence RLT.
- Each Settings have a different Attributes to run the simulation.we can go through all this sections detailed in the below images

Advanced setup
- Advanced Setup also have the different Attributes and we can go through all this sections detailed in the below images. It Contains the different Setups like General,FLow,Mechanics,Restart,Version Changes,Paths,MiscFiles

PLOT SETUP

- Plot Setup, which is found under the "Run" pull-down menu, gives the user a variety of options to change the way in which the plots are requested. If no changes are requested, the Default Values, as specified in the top right corner of the Plot Setup Dialog, will be used. A button called "Remove Plot(s)" is available to remove unwanted plot requests from Plot Setup. All plots requested in individual parts will be stored regardless of whether the user chooses to use Plot Setup.

Problem:
Given
- Diameter of cooler inlet and outlet pipe= 50 mm
- Length of the CAC= 1000 mm
- Inlet mass flow rate = 1200 kg/ h at 100 degC
- Outlet pressure 2 bar at 30 deg C
- Calculate the Average heat transfer at Charge air cooler (CAC)
- Calculate pressure drop across CAC
Answer

- Now by double clicking on the intercooler-1and box will pop up and change the diameter of the inlet and outlet =50 mm and also the Length of the CAC=1000 mm Which is shown below:

Setting the boundary conditions

Run setup

Simulation completed

Average Convective Heat Transfer Rate to Walls = 7.5539484 kW

Pressure Drop btw End Boundaries = 1.1233 bar
