Week - 1 - Consistency of Units
AIM:
The aim of the challenge is to convert the SI units systems of the given quantities with all the different types of parameters and also to tabulate the unit systems for all the different types of the unitssystems.
Objective:
The goal of this challenge is to convert the given quantity values for the multiple units sytstems and also build table so that it may be utilised frequntly without any problem in the futher of executing the difficulties of Ls Dyna because LS Dyna doesn't have a default system.
System of units:A system of units is a set of related units that are used for calculations.For examples,in the MKS system,the base units are the meter,kilogram and second,which represent the basic dimensions of length ,mass and time.

1 Kilogram = 1000 grams = 0.001 tonne = 0.068 slug
1 meter = 1000 millimeters = 100 centimeters = 3.28 feets
1 second = 1000 milliseconds = 10 microseconds
The parameters to which different units to be assigned are:
Mass = 1kg
Length = 1m
Time = 1s
Force = 1N
Stress = 1 Pa
Energy = 1 Nm
Density = 1 Kg/m
Young’s Modulus = 210 GPa
Velocity = 56.33 kmph
Gravity = 9.88 m/s
The units in which the different parameters are to be converted are as follows:
Kg cm ms
Kg cm s
gm mm ms
kg m s
g cm s
g cm us
g mm s
ton mm s
slug ft s
kg mm s
g cm ms
kg mm ms
1.Conversion of SI units to kg cm ms:
Mass=1kg
Length =1m
100cm
Time=1 sec
1000ms
Force=1N
Force=Mass*acceleration
=1kg*1m/s^2
=(ikg*100cm)/(10000ms)^2
=10^-4(kg*cm)/ms^2
Conversion factor=10^-4
Stress=1Mpa
1pa=1N/m^2
As from the above derived 1N=10^-1(kg cm)/ms^2
={10^1(kg cm/ms^2)}/(100cm^2)
=10^-8kg/cm ms^2
Conversion factor=10^-3kg/cm*ms^2
Energy=1Nm
1N*1m
(10^-4 kg cm/ms^2}*100cm
10^2kg cm^2/ms^2
10^-2kg cm^2/ms^2
conversion factor=10^-2
Density =1kg/m^3
1kg/(100cm)^3
1/(1000000)cm^3
10^-6kg/cm^3
Conversion factor=10^-6
Young's Modulus =210Gpa
1pa=10^-3kg/cm*ms^2
1Gpa =10^9*10^-3kg/cm*ms^2
210 Gpa=210*10^6kg/cm*ms^2
Conversion factor =10^6
Velocity 56.33 Kmph
km/hr
1km=10000cm=10^4cm
1hr=60min*60*1000
3600000
36*10^5ms
1kmph=(10^4)/(36*10^5)
=0.00277cm/ms
56.33kmph=56.33*0.00277cm/ms
=0.1560cm/ms
Gravity=9.88m/s^2
1m/s^2=100cm/(1000ms)62
=10^-4cm/ms^2
9.8m/s^2-9.8*10^-4cm/ms^2
conversionFactor=10^-4
Tabular Data

LS-DYNA doesn't have a default system of units. User needs to input material properties and physical dimensions according to a consistent system
of units as per their choice. This warrants that to use LS-DYNA in different circumstances, users has to be conversant with converting quantities
from one system of units to another.
