Usage of Navigation tool , Timeliner and Clash Detection test using Naviswork
1) Use the Architecture/ Structure Project file developed by you in Week 6 to 8. Export the Revit architecture and structure model to Navisworks Cache file following the export settings discussed in class
Solution:
Aim: To use the structural project file developed by us in the week 6 to 8 to export the Revite Architecture and structure model to Navisworks Cache file.
Procedure:
1. Open Revit and open the file which you have saved in the week 6 to 8 and go to file then export , NWC and save the file in NWC Format.

2. Wait for the file to get exported.

3. The Revit file is opened in Navisworks.

Result:
The Revit file is successfully exported and can be saved as navisworks file.

2) Use Navigate Tool to walk around the model and walk through the rooms created and record your moving as animation in your Navisworks file
Solution:
Aim: To use Navigate Tool to walk around the model and walk through the rooms created and record your moving as animation in your Navisworks file.
Procedure:
1. Open the Architectural file which we have exported as Navis cache file in to Navis manage then go to view point tool and select save view option.

2. Save the views with appropriate names accordingly.

3. Now select the walk tool and click cursor or keybord arrow keys to start the Walkthrough.

4. Now go to the save view paoint and click on record and start walking to the direction you need the view and click on stop to stop the record.

Result:
We have successfully used the Navigate tools to walk around the model and though the rooms created and recorded our move.

3) Use Navigate tool to use Realism feature to walk through the model and record your moving as animation in Navisworks file
Solution:
Aim: To use the Navigate tool to use Realism feature to walk thugh the model and record your movings as animation in Naviswork file.
Procedure:
1. Open the Architectural fle which we have exported as Navis cache file in to Navismanage the go to view point tool and select save view option

2. Go to the Realism and select the third person option and walk though the rooms and around the building and save the points.

3. Go to view point and start the record and wlk though the rooms or view which you need to view with the help of cursor or key board arrows.

Result:
With the help of above steps we have use the realism fature and walked though the rooms and around the building and record the movings successfully.

4) Embed both architecture and structure *.nwc file to your Navisworks file. Create a clash detection test between the two models
a. Run the Clash Detection Test
b. Study the clashes between the two models
c. List which of the clashes could be approved
d. List which of the clashes could be neglected ( will be taken care later)
e. List which of the clashes can be resolved
f. Save the results after color coding the clashes to the Navisworks file
g. In case of resolution annotate the clash and save the view to defined views in Navisworks
Solution:
Aim: To conduct clash detection test between architectural and structural models.
Procedure:
1. Open the Revite and save both Architectural and structural file as NWC and oprn them in Naviswork manage.
2. open the Architectural file and append the structural file to it both the file got merged.

3. Select the clash detective tool in home tab.

4. A clash detective box appears, click on add test and select the file in which you need to detect the click on run test.

5. The clashes ae visible in red colour we can approach clashes which are perfect ehrn we see the images. the colour turns to green from red.
- We can neglect the clashes which will not cause any distrubance to the project
- We can resolve the clashes which can change the boundary conditions we can exclude these clashes from detective test.
- Once the clashes are mentioned we can save the file by selecting save as.
- Now we can annotate and save the place where we can see the clashes and can viewed personally and will be rectified

Result:
With the help of above steps we can able to detect the clashes in the model and we can resolve the problem and we can send the file to the design engineer.
5) Using the Timeliner feature in Navisworks prepare a schedule for the project developed in week 6 to 8 by adding reasonable assumptions for task start date and end date and simulate the task completion as a visual simulation. Record it and save the timeline simulation to Navisworks file
Solution:
Aim: To use the Timeliner feature in Navisworks prepare a schedule for the project developed in week 6 to 8 by adding reasonable assumptions for task start date and end date and simulate the task completion as a visual simulation.
Procedure:
1. Open the structural file in the naviswork manage.
2. Click on the timeline in the home.

3. The Time liner box appers in the bottom. Click on selection tree to select add them to the timeliner.
4. Click on add tasks and go to attach and select the items in the selection tree.

5. We can add planned and actual start and end dates.

6. Click on stimulate after filling all the details.

Result:
With the help of above steps we can prepare a scheule for the project developed in week 6 to 8 by adding resonable
assumptions like task start date and end date and stimulated the task completion as a visula simulation and recorded it and saved the timeliner simulation to naviswork file successfully.
