Challenge

Usage of Navigation tool , Timeliner and Clash Detection test using Naviswork

1) Use the Architecture/ Structure Project file developed by you in Week 6 to 8. Export the Revit architecture and structure model to Navisworks Cache file following the export settings discussed in class

Aim : Use the Architecture/ Structure Project file developed by you in Week 6 to 8. Export the Revit architecture and structure model to Navisworks Cache file following the export settings discussed in class

Procedure :

  • Open the architectural model in the revit
  • open the 3d view in the revit
  • And go to the file tab and go to the export

  • and go to the NWC export and save the NWC in the desktop

  • And save the both architectural and structure
  • And Open the Naviwork software .

Result : Export the Revit architecture and structure model to Navisworks

2) Use Navigate Tool to walk around the model and walk through the rooms created and record your moving as animation in your Navisworks file

Aim : Use Navigate Tool to walk around the model and walk through the rooms created and record your moving as animation in your Navisworks file

Procedure :

  • Open the export file in the naviswork manger
  • And go to the architeture file open in the naviswork
  • And Go to the view point and cilck on the walk
  • And work throught the every room in the plan

  • And go to the save view point and start record
  • And walk throught the every room in the plan
  • After the record stop the file and save the file

Result : Use Navigate Tool to walk around the model and walk through the rooms created and record your moving as animation in your Navisworks file

3) Use Navigate tool to use Realism feature to walk through the model and record your moving as animation in Navisworks file

Aim : Use Navigate tool to use Realism feature to walk through the model and record your moving as animation in Navisworks file

Procedure :

  • Open the export file in the naviswork manger
  • And go to the architeture file open in the naviswork
  • And Go to the view point and cilck on the Realism
  • And work throught the every room in the plan using the pan and zoom to the every room

  • And go to the save view point and start record
  • And walk throught the every room in the plan
  • After the record stop the file and save the file

Result : Use Navigate tool to use Realism feature to walk through the model and record your moving as animation in Navisworks file

4) Embed both architecture and structure *.nwc file to your Navisworks file. Create a clash detection test between the two models
a. Run the Clash Detection Test
b. Study the clashes between the two models
c. List which of the clashes could be approved
d. List which of the clashes could be neglected ( will be taken care later)
e. List which of the clashes can be resolved
f. Save the results after color coding the clashes to the Navisworks file
g. In case of resolution annotate the clash and save the view to defined views in Navisworks

Aim: Embed both architecture and structure *.nwc file to your Navisworks file. Create a clash detection test between the two models

Procedure :

Open the architeture file in the naviswork

And open the architecture file

And open go to the home tab and cilck on the append tab and add the structure file in architeture

And Cilck on the clash detective and open the clash dective tab

And add the test tack for it

After adding the test case and select the architeture file from the section A and structure file from the selection B

And then run the test case

click on run test

after test study aboout clashes like beams colukns etc.,

list the clashes which can be approved, reviewed, resolved by selcting them in drop down menu

Result :

Save the results after color coding the clashes to the Navisworks file In case of resolution annotate the clash and save the view to defined views in Navisworks

5) Using the Timeliner feature in Navisworks prepare a schedule for the project developed in week 6 to 8 by adding reasonable assumptions for task start date and end date and simulate the task completion as a visual simulation. Record it and save the timeline simulation to Navisworks file

Aim : Using the Timeliner feature in Navisworks prepare a schedule for the project developed in week 6 to 8 by adding reasonable assumptions for task start date and end date and simulate the task completion as a visual simulation. Record it and save the timeline simulation to Navisworks file

Procedure :

Open the architetural file in the naviswork exported from the revit

And go to the home tab And click on the timeline

And select selection tree and add the tasks and attach the materials

Ans assign the planned and actual start and end dates to task

And Recond the Time liner

And Click on the simulate to play the recorded task from it

And we can the record animation recrod file

And save the record animation from the amination export and save the file .

Result : Using the Timeliner feature in Navisworks prepare a schedule for the project developed
