Usage of Navigation tool , Timeliner and Clash Detection test using Naviswork
Aim & introduction:- In this project we come to know how save the revit project into nwc file & export it into navis work software. In navis work software we can make walk through of the project & look around all building , rooms elements & make the frames into video & save it. We can also make walk through with 3rd person available in viewpoint & look around all building, room elements & make the frames into video & save it. We can do clash detetion with other elements of building from other disciplines like architecture to structure to hvac to plumbing to mechanical to electrical & vice versa, make necessary changes & assign, review, approve by engineer & make reports of it. In this software we can estimate of time period required to complete the project through time liner. We can attach the elements of model for each activity for start & completion of each activity & make video of it present it to client. We can attach files from other software like m.s project & primavera p6. We can attach files from other software like m.s project & primavera p6. We can make quantification of various elements as per stage of the building like basement, superstructure(shell), interiors, services like mep, hvac, electrical & mechanical elements, site work etc & make reports & submit to client.
1) Open the revit week 6 to 8 file of structural & architecture & click on file, click on export, a new dialog box will open scroll down to NWC & click on it & do not change any of the settings in desk make file for navis work week 10 challenge & save it & in the same way do it for structure file also.
2) Open naviswork software, click on open, & click on the architecture file, the model will open in navis work. By scrolling zoom in to go inside the buildinding, click on viewpoint tab, bring cursor to walk, scroll down to walk & clik it bring wall to inside the building & press left of mouse to move forward, back ward. left & right through key board & for look around through navigate tool. During this process click on save the view point make file, rename it & click on record. In this way navigate through in all rooms of each floor & stop recording.To see recording click on animation click on play button & see video. To save this video into desktop file click on export animation, a new dialog box will open keep source current animation, renderer as viewport, format as windows AVI, you can change height & width& click ok & you watch the video.
3) Go to viewpoint tab click on realism, scroll down to 3rd person. Before walk zoom inside the building & start walk through pressing left of mouse to move forward, back ward. left & right through key board & for look around through navigate tool. During this process click on save the view point make file, rename it & click on record. In this way navigate through in all rooms of each floor & stop recording.To see recording click on animation click on play button & see video. To save this video into desktop file click on export animation, a new dialog box will open keep source current animation, renderer as viewport, format as windows AVI, you can change height & width& click ok & you watch the video.
4) The architecture file is al ready open, now bring structure file in navis work click on append click on the structure file will open in navis work. To merge the structure file click on review tab, click on measure scroll down to point to point, before that select the structure file by clickin in home tab on selection tree. Point the measure tool left outer corner of structure model to left corner of architecture model, during this process item tool tab will appear click on it & at left click on hold & again click on reveiw tab at left hand corner click on measure & click on transform selected item. Now your structure model will merge into architecture model. Check whether the structure model is size & level of model is matched with architecture otherwise close it do not save do the process to match the level. Now clik home tab, at right hand side click on clash detective & click on add test type architecture vs structure. In section A keeping as standard select on architecture file & in section B keeping as standard select on structure file & at tick on model run click on run. After run is over all the clashes will appear, check each clash & do necessary changes required & do re-run the test & other wise click active to wait for to necessary changes to be done by other disciplene, keep review , assign to person incharge, approved if is as required by client & resolved if changes has been done & report of submit it to clent. We can sets of elements of like walls , windows, doors, generic models, plumbing,hvac by each floor wise make file of it & by selecting selection tree run clash detective & resolve the clashed appear to run project with no clashes & delay in project completion.
5) Click on home tab click on selection tree & at right hand side click on time liner, the time liner tab will appear at bottom. Now click on add tak rename it as per from structure like foudation give date start & completion date, also actual start date & completion date.Next stub column, plinth beam, columns, staircase & first floor slab, then second floor columns, staircase & slab. Now walls, windows & doors fittings, plumbing work, hvac work. Like wise do for other missed items for finishing work like vitrified flooring, dadoo & painting works, compound wall, fabrication work for railing. In selection tree click on elements items as per the task & attach it to the task so that it appears in the model make video of it save it & submit it clent. We can make report of it excel sheet, ms project & primavera P6 import it to the respective files. Now click on simulate button click on play, the activity will show in the model. Now make the animation into by clicking on export button. To save this video into desktop file click on export animation, a new dialog box will open keep source current animation, renderer as viewport, format as windows AVI, you can change height & width& click ok & you watch the video.
