Usage of Collaborate tool in REVIT

1) AIM : To open architectural template and set the project base point and project shared coordinated for the project.

TOOLS REQUIRE : Architecture tool, grid tool, manage tool, file, save as, project file

PROCEDURE :

• Firstly select the architectural template
• 
• Then click on the grid tool icon and draw grid lines and name them accordingly
• 
• Now select specify coordinates at the point icon present in the manage toolbar
• 

• Now specify the coordinates and select the grid then we can observe north-south co-ordinates when we select horizontal grid and east-west co-ordinates when we select a vertical grid

• 
• Now set the coordinates as 0'0'
• Now save the project in the project file by using the file icon

RESULT :

We have set the project base point and project shared co-ordinates for the project

2) AIM : To create a structural template and by using manage tab setting project parameters same as that of architectural model

TOOLS REQUIRE : Structural template, manage tool, file, project file, grid tool and specify co-ordinates at a point

PROCEDURE :

• Firstly create a structural template
• 
• Then click on the grid tool present in the architectural menu bar and draw gridlines and name the grid lines accordingly
• Now using the specify coordinates at the point tool present in the manage toolbar
• Now set the coordinates of the grid lines and modify them by setting their co-ordinates to 0'0"
• 
• Now save the project using the file tool in the project file.

RESULT :

Therefore parameters from the architectural model are copied to the structural model successfully

3) AIM : To make architectural model into central model using collaberate tab

TOOLS REQUIRE : File, open, architecture, collaborate tool, collaborate menu

PROCEDURE :

• Firstly open architectural template
• Then select collaborate tool in the collaborate menu tool bar
• 
• Now collaborate file using options given in the collaborate menu bar
• 
• Then select the option within your network and then click ok

RESULT : Architectural model successfully made into central model using collaborate tool

4) AIM : To create longitudinal and transverse patterned grids for the project

TOOLS REQUIRE : Grid tool, architectural tool, save as, file

PROCEDURE :

• Firstly open the architectural template file
• Then click on the grid tool which is available in architectural tool tab
• 
• Now draw the grid lines both in horizontal and vertical direction
• 
• Now name the grid lines accordingly (i.e A,B,C,D for horizontal and 1,2,3,4 for vertical grids) and save the file

RESULT : Therefore longitudinal and transverse grids are created successfully

5) AIM : To Synchronize the changes from the local copy to the central file of the architectural model

TOOLS REQUIRE : Synchronize tool, collaborate menu, collaborate tool

PROCEDURE :

• Firstly open the file, make the file into central model file by selecting on collaborate tool and then choosing within your network option
• Now click on synchronize tool and then modify settings available in collaborate menu bar

• Then the drawing will synchronize with the central model file

RESULT : Therefore the changes are synchronised from local copy to central model file successfully

6) AIM : To save structure model as central model file by using collaborate tool

TOOLS REQUIRE : Structural template, Collaborate menu bar, collaborate tool, save

PROCEDURE :

• Firstly open the structural template
• Now select collaborate tool from collaborate menu bar
• Then select the option with in your network and then save the project

RESULT : Therefore structural model saved as central file successfully by using collaborate tools

7) AIM : To copy levels and grids from architectural model to structural model

TOOLS REQUIRE : Architectural template, copy monitor tool, level, grid

PROCEDURE :

• Firstly open the architectural model template
• Then draw levels and grids using level and grid tools
• Now select copy monitor tool from collaborate menu bar
• Now copy the required things
• Then open the structural model file which was created before
• Now paste the levels and grids using paste tool from modify tool bar and then click on finish

RESULT : The levels and grids are copied successfully from architectural model to structural model file

8) AIM : To create a new file using construction template and to save it as new central model and to include both architectural and structural models

TOOLS REQUIRE : Construction template, architectural tool bar, grid tool, collaborate tool, collaborate menu bar, with in your network, save tool

PROCEDURE :

• Firstly create a new construction template
• Now create a structure using grid tool
• Then select collaborate tool from collaborate menu bar and choose with in your network option from it
• Now click on ok and then save the file

RESULT : New construction template created and saved it into new central model successfully

AIM: TO CHECK WHETHER THE ARCHITECTURAL MODELS ARE LINKED AND SHARED PARAMETERS ARE LINKED IN PROPER MANNER OR NOT.

PROCEDURE:

1. OPEN CONSTRUCTION TEMPLATE FILE.

2.MAKE IT CENTRAL FILE BT COLLABERATE TAB AND SELECT THE OPTION WITHIN YOUR NETWORK.

3. CLICK MANAGE LINKS ICON PRESENT IN MANAGE TAB WHERE WE CAN ADD STRUCTURAL AND ARCHITECTURAL MODEL IN IT.

4. NOW WE CAN OBSERVE BOTH ARCHIECTURAL AND STRUCTURAL MODEL LINKED.

5. NOW SELECT POSITION AND CLICK RELOCATE POSITION OPTION AND INTERSECTION POINTS OF GRIDS ARE LOCATED.

6. THE GRIDS ARE POSITIONED.

RESULT:

THE GRIDS FROM STRUCTURAL AND ARCHITECTURAL MODEL ARE LINKED IN AN PROPER MANNER.
