Challenge

Usage of Collaborate tool in REVIT

1) Open an architectural template. Using the Manage tab set project base point and project shared coordinates for the project ?

Ans - Open Rivet softwere then create new project as Architectural Template and saved this as Building Architectural.

After then go to grid option and draw grid line Longitudinal and transverse, after then go to manage tab and go to coordinate option then specify coordinate at point 0,0 and saved.

2) Open another new file but with a structural template. Using the manage tab set project parameters the same as the architectural model. Copy the parameters from the architectural model to the structural template or enter the parameters manually into the structural model ?

Ans - Create new project as Structural Template and saved this as Building Structural.

After then go to grid option and draw grid line Longitudinal and transverse, after then go to manage tab and go to coordinate option then specify coordinate at point 0,0 and saved.

3) Re-open the architectural model. Using the tools under the Collaborate tab make the architectural model a central model (enabling simultaneous working on the model)?

Ans - For Central model of Architectural model, Open Building Architectural file and go to collaborate tab and go to collbarate option and choose with your network then saved then yes.

4) Create the Grids Longitudinal and Transverse pattern for the project similar to the task done in Week 2 ?

Ans - Creating Grids - Go to grid line option and choose pick line option and set offset distance and create Longitudional and Transvers Grids and then change Longitudional Grids name as Alphabetical.

5) Synchronize the changes from the local copy to the central file of the architectural model ?

Ans - Synchronize the changes from the local copy to the central file of the architectural model - Go to collabrate tab then go to synchronize with central option and choose synchronize & Modifying setting and choose custom setting then ok.

6) Open the structural model and use the collaborate tools to save the model as a central file ?

Ans - Open structural model and go to collabrate tab and then collabrate option and choose the with in your network option and saved then yes.

7) Under the Collaborate tab, select the grids and levels from the architectural model, and using Copy Monitor try to copy the grids to the structural model. See what happens when the copy monitored grid is moved around in the structural model ?

Ans - In Structural model, go to insert tab and then Revit link option and choose building architectural file and open then go to collabrate tab and go to copy moniter option and choose select link then go to copy option and choose multiple option and finish then again copy moniter and finish, see the copy moniter architectural grid is set structural model grid.

8) Create another new file with a construction template. Save the new file as a central model. This file will include both architectural and structural model. Under the manage tab, Click manage links to link both architectural and structural files. Save the file and close all the files ?

Ans - Go to file and open new file and choose construction template and save file as a construction Template .

Go to collabrate tab and collabrate option and choose with in your networks option and saved then yes for saving central model, Then go to Insert tab and link both architectural and structural model and save the file.

9) Are the grids from structural and architectural model matching in the construction template created? If yes the model is set up for project 2. If not work on the shared parameters and linking options under Manage links
( Hint: origin to origin, by shared coordinates or by project base point to base point ) to link the models in an appropriate manner ?

Ans - Grids from structural and architectural model matched in the construction templete .

10) List a flow chart of a project tree set up in terms of Construction model, Architecture & Structure model, in this exercise and understand how many people can work on the same project using Revit simultaneously ?

Ans- Flow Chart -

1. Construction Model - Construction model is devide two option

a) Architectural Model

b) Structural Model

a) Architectural Model - In Architectural Model where work going in following -

Wall,Window,Doors,Architectural floor,roof,ceiling,staircase opening etc.

b) Structural Model - In structural model where work going in following -Column, Beam,Footing ,Strutural floor, Bracing etc.

In this exercise many decipline people can work on the same Project using revit simultaneously like Architectural engineer,Strutural Engineer,Plumbing , Electrical etc .
