Underbody Coating

Underbody coating :-

It is a thick resilient coating applied to the underbody or chassis of an automobile to protect against impact damage from small stones, which would rapidly chip ordinary paint, allowing rusting to begin.

Process of underbody coating :

• After welding/rubbing , the car body will dip 360 degrees into the hotwater,because during welding/rubbing the body the dust is present in the body,while coating a thick flim in dust , it may cause improper coating to the body hence to remove the dust in body dip into hot water, hot water because its can warm and resist the iron body.
• After this the body must goes into the rinse area, due to dry the water and rinse the droplets present in the body.
• After these water rinse it must coated with E-coat & DI-coat with phosphate.
• Then the body accepts the thick flim
• The body will slowly slide dip into the E-D paint tankand move forward slightly towards the totally paint attacted to the body with each and each part in body and slowly slide up the body to every boday part without get any air bubble in the body.
• Then after finishing the coating its goes to the rinse chamber
• These rinse chamber have particulare temp air and paint collector and down, beacuse we are dipping excess of paint to aplly each part with out occur air bubbles,it take time to rinse and drop extra paint in the body.
• after rinse the body goes to body painting .

UNDERCOATING USES :-

1. Atmospheric pollution,such as acid rain and salt spray which may cause paint damage.
2. Design of rusting traps
3. Resist to rust formation / corrosion.
4. In climate conditions,like ice metling chemicals upon the road.
5. palstic /seal protection control on car underinside.
6. Qualtiy,thickness and compostion of metal used,often an alloy of mild steel.
7. low quality /improper metals used in body which doesnot occur rust .

It is the coating of the body these 5 layes are the protect from the damages and rust / corrosion to the body.
