Underbody Coating
UNDERBODY COATING
- As the name says underbody coating is a coating of BiW of the vehicle using the Electrodeposition process.
- The main purpose of underbody coating is to preventing metal components that are exposed to the atmosphere from corrosion.
- It also protects the interior parts which are not accessible but prone to corrosion.
- Underbody coating provides long-term protection.
- It can be done by fully automatic or semi-automatic.
- The inclination angle in which BiW is inserted into the electrodeposition bath and the time in which it remains in the bath is very important because droplets should not remain on the body which gives extra coating and weight which is not desirable.
- The better the ED coating better the absorption of paint and the better the corrosion resistance.
- After it goes for a heating process where the remaining droplets were dried out.
