Undercoating is usually a dense cladding applied uniformly to the undercarriage of the automobile.It is Normallly sprayed or Painted on when car is just out of dealership.But even if you are getting the undercoating appied after a couple of year .This will prevent further damage to body.
The main purpose of undecoating is to check rust especially in the body components like exposed metal parts to the environment in lower body.This coating can also reduce wear and tear.
Also Hyundai car company Gives this option san says this coating provides long term protection from corrosion to car underbody.
Types of Undercoating :-:
1.Rubberized .
this is Generally thought of as the best underbody coating for car.it preserves the underbody well,Protecting it from scratches.Applying it in undercarriageis not much difficult.
2.Wax Based .
This is for short period of time.On upper side of the body get prevent from the moisture.Also more cheaper .
3.Asphalt Based .
This is not mostly used for the car but for heavy vehicle like trucks and others.However this coating gives car rubber coating which helps to reduce sound .
4.Polyurethane .
This coating closes up splits and fracture on the underbody of the vehicle.it offers up good protection against corrosion and also bonds with metal.

Cons :-:
. A used vehicle may already have residue on the bottom of the car or even have spots of rust and corrosion.
. It will not help you if corrosion already exists and corrosion needs to be removed first before it can be applied.
. Can be tricky to apply .
. Sometime require time including sanding and primer.
. Will need to be reapplied at least annually.
. Can drip or Rub since it never entirely dries.
. Not Paintable.
