Underbody Coating

UNDERBODY COATING:-

Mainly underbody coating is given to the car for protection purpose of the car, After a long time of using a vehicle the underbody chassis get damaged due to some impact avoiding that impact to creates a major issue for that purpose only many OEMs provide underbody coatings to cars.

TO PROTECT FROM:-

• Some impacts may happen due to the tiny stone on the roads
• Sometimes the impacts happen due to the speed breakers (Especially on the vehicle which is having very low ground clearance)
• Rust is the great enemy of iron so we need to protect the car from the water
• Mostly in the Coastal Areas must provide underbody coating to the cars to protect them from rust.
• Absorbs the Noice

To avoid the above problems we need to give Underbody coatings to the cars

TYPES:-

There are several types of undercoating methods

• It may vary based on the price, quality, and the sustainability

Rubberized underbody coating:-

This is the best underbody coating for cars, it preserves the underbody of the car from scratches. and it will sustain for a long period of time (approx for 5 years).

Wax-based underbody coating:-

This is the ephemeral coating and it will fight against moisture it comes from the most affordable price and it sustains for a very short period of time when compared to the Rubberized. (approx for 2-3 years)

Asphalt automotive underbody coating:-

This coating is especially for the lorries,trucks, and buses.It is very effective when compared to rubber coating and it is a time-consuming process.

Pros of Underbody Coating:-

• Prevents from the rust and moisture
• Prevent from the great Impacts on chassis
• Absorbs the noise

Cons of Underbody Coating:-

• Should be coat some particular area in chassis because some sensors are placed there without affecting the sensors we need to take care of that areas while coating.
• Undercoat painting will add the weight of the car.
• Under coating is less helpful if the corrosion is present
