Project - Analysis of a practical automotive wiring circuit
1.Identify the Major elements in the above automotive wiring diagram.
The major Elements are
Generator
Distributor
Battery
Fuse
Ammeter
Starters
Breakers
Current and Voltage Regulators
Ignition Coil
Gas tank Unit
Light switches
Junction Block
2.Explain the purpose and working of any three elements briefly?
In this elements I choose three elements are
Battery,Fuse,Breakers
Battery:
Battery was invented by alessandro volta in 1800 and It is the heart of the EV system without a battery there is no Ev and the battery converts a Chemical energy into the Electrical energy
And the battery is Made up of collection of cells of 1.5V and the series and parallel connection of the batteries play a major role in a EV system
If the battery are connected in series It can give high voltage
If the battery are connected in parallel it can deliver Current
And the main Purpose of the battery is to Give the Electricity across the terminals and there is two terminals in the battery anode(-)and cathode(+)
There is a two types of battery
1.Primary Batteries (non rechargeable)
2.Secondary Batteries (Rechargable)
In EV mostly We are using Lithium Ion because of its high efficient and Energy Density
And The major system to protect and monitor the battery in the EVs are Battery management system
Fuse:
Fuses are the protecting agent in an Electrical system and the Fuses are give protection to the system and the device which we used
Working of a Fuse
In the system there is a current flow in ampere if the flow of the Current exceeds the certain limit it will cause damage to the system for that purpose we are using fuse at a certain Amp like 5A etc if the current comes above 5A it will the Fuse wire get melted and the circuit gets opened
so the flow of current in the circuit are stopped
types of Fuses:
1.Catridge type fuses (Using in electrical devices)
2.Rewirable fuses ( using in the house hold)
(Choke)
After the circuit opens we need to rewire the fuse and close the circuit to take place further
Breakers:
The circuit breakers are also using for protection purpose but here There is no need to rewire
When there is a high current flows beyond the limit and the circuit breakers are suddenly opens and we need to rectify the issues and close the circuit by using switches
Types:
1.MCCB (Moulded Case Circuit Breakers)
2.ELCB ( Earth Leakage Circuit Breakers)
3.RCCB (Residual Current Circuit Breakers)
4.MCB ( Miniature Circuit Breakers)
3.If the total load is 10 A from the battery what would be the fuse rating?
If the total load is 10A , if the current is constant no damage to the system but If any changes in the current it will damage
For that the Fuse rating Would be 12A-15A
4.If 500W is the load,What is the Voltage and capacity of the battery you recommend?
My recommended battery 48V 100Ah
reason is if we use this battery it will deliver
for an 9hrs
