Underbody coating is a type of technique used in the automotive industry under the body of the car to prevent corrosion to the car's underbody. It acts as a good corrosion resistance not only to the outer underbody of the car but also for some internal parts like internal body panels, frame rails, and other inner cavities that are not physically accessible but used to get corroded. It is a rubber-based spray but denser than a normal coating. It is uniformly applied to the undercarriage of the automobile. It also prevents other damages that can be caused to the car underbody. A heavily undercoated vehicle is more protective and less prone to corrosion and even the type of underbody coating will reflect in the price of the vehicle, due to its heavy cost.

An undercoated vehicle also gets protected from small stones, road debris, water, and gravel. A well-factory-coated underbody coating is a very less chance of flaking away.

A well-undercoated vehicle protects some parts of the engine and transmission. Thus the vehicle's lifespan is high.
Disadvantages of underbody coating
The only disadvantage is the raise in the price of the vehicle, which is heavily undercoated. The underbody coating gets directly reflected in the price of the vehicle. Hence it is necessary for every vehicle and the health of the vehicle.
