underbody coating is process where Car BIW is coated with primarily coating Which is to prevent corrosion and increase the durability and life of automobile . Underbody coating is also prevent wear and tear of automobile parts .

1 rubberized underbody coating

2 wax undercoating

3 polyurethane underbody coating

1 - Undercoating is manily used to reduce rusting or corrosion problem in BIW or automobile . undercoating basically stop or slows down the chemical reaction between metal and environment as a result of reaction it causes corrosion which lead to heavy loss of metal in long term .

2 - Increase durability of automobile - since undercoating stops or slows down corrosion and rusting issues automobile durability and life increase which is good for consumer and reputation of comapny as well .

3 - absorb noise - rubber and wax undercoating is help to absorb noise which cause by shock waves in vehical . usually in india most of road contains debris or potholes which cause shock waves and jerks to car undercoating absorb a limited amount of shock and help in noise free journey .

1 - extra cost - since it is additional process for cars to prevent corrosion , rusting and noise problem but comes with cons as well to apply undercoating to vehical company has to plant automated , semiautomed or manual process which add extra cost to company as well as consumers.

2 add extra weight - since weight is directly effect the performance of vehical ( ex. speed , milage , durability of suspension ) where more weight put negative impact at all of these and less weight put good impact and adding or applying undercoating means adding extra weight to vehical .
