Underbody Coating
UNDERBODY COATING
Underbody Coating provides longterm protection from corrosion to cars underbody.
In India road conditions, a car underbody is most prone to corrosion.
Its also protect parts like internal body panels frame rails and other inner cavities that are not physically accessible but are pron to corrosion.

TYPES OF UNDERBODY COATING:
- Rubberized Underbody Coating. This is generally thought of as the best underbody coating for your car.
- Wax Based Underbody Coating.
- Asphalt Based Automotive Undercoating.
- Polyurethane Underbody Coating.
Rubberized Underbody Coating:
Underbody coating is usually a dense cladding (often based on rubber) applied uniformly to the undercarriage of the automobile. It is normally sprayed or painted on when the car is just out of the dealership and is clean. But even if you are getting the undercoating applied after a couple of years, it's fine too.
Wax Based Underbody Coating:
Underbody coating is a sparyed application of a wax or rubber based composite onto the entire underside of the vehicle. It is mainly designed to create a rust-proof layer between the underneath of the vehicle and the water, ice and salts of the road.
Asphalt Based Automotive Undercoating:
Asphalt-based undercoating is the thickest coating and has the most damage-resistant properties. It can be bought from professional services shops and is the only type of undercoating with a limited warranty. You can also buy the asphalt-based undercoating while buying a new vehicle.
Polyurethane Underbody Coating:
This type of sealant works by seeping into all cracks and seams, displacing salt and moisture and oozing around rusty areas to bond with and protect unoxidized metal. It also sands quickly in case you'll need to perform bodywork and can be painted over.
PROS:
A good coating can ensure that water deso not enter the components and start rusting prematurely.
The coating also prevents retention of water within the parts, which can lead to creation of sluch.
CONS:
High cost.
The cost of underbody coating has reduced over the years but it is still expensive.
