Tool Test-2

AIM

To do a solid meshing in the inlet of the car model using ansa and to check the mesh flow and tet collapse error.

PROCEDURE

On the 1st step I do a geometry check-ups and topology. Now checking all the double cons are stitched together, at last there is no geometry errors in the model and fully closed volume. All the surfaces now together and this is single part inlet.

I deleted some of the unnecessary cons on the model which may fail for the quality.

In the bolt areas I suppressed a cons such are failing for the minimum quality issues.

Now I’m doing ortho mesh on the fillet areas and bolt areas, bending surfaces. And trying to reconstruct the mesh for checking the min & max quality.

The tria mesh is applying all the flat surfaces and also reconstruct and checking the quality the errors.

Finally checking the all the mesh are stitched and have a best mesh flow using reconstruct and smooth option.

In the volume deck now assigning new volume to the model for generating tetra mesh.

In the list option remesh the generated volume, now it will generate a un structured mesh on the whole model.

Now checking the tet collapse errors as per given criteria.

I had only tet collapse errors in the model that are I solved it by using the fix quality.

All the tet collapse error are checked. There is a only minimum surface quality I eliminated because i cannot made any changes in the bolt areas, is change there that make a difference in the shape of the fillet.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

  • Solid meshing on the bigger part is new to me
  • Meshing on the bolt areas are some where difficult
  • Meshing both the trias and ortho together will gives a error on the connecting surfaces.

CONCLUSION

All the surfaces of the model and the tetra volume of the model is finally generated.
