To plan a structural layout and to create grids using TSD
1)
Aim :-
Summarize the user interface in TSD with the for the following items: -
* Project Workspace – How to access and usage
* Scene Content – Demonstrate the use of scene content
* Create two scene views
* Loading drop list- How to access
* Properties windows – how to access and usage
Procedure :-
Project Workspace :-
* Open the Tekla structural designer software and click on New option and the new model workspace will appear
* Now all the ribbons and menu bars are visible

Scene Content :-
* Select window tab and then click on scene content
* The scene content checkbox will appears and it shows tick and untick element in the box

Two scene views :-
* While creating a new Tekla file itself, the software automatically creates two default views like 2D and 3D.
* Grid lines was drawn to shown the different views

Loading drop list :-
* Left side of workspace there is loading option and click on it we get loading drop list
* And below that there is loadcases box appear

Properties windows :-
* Select window tab and in that select properties window

Result :-
Successfully complete to summarize the user interface in TSD with the for the following items: -
* Project Workspace – How to access and usage
* Scene Content – Demonstrate the use of scene content
* Create two scene views
* Loading drop list- How to access

2)
Aim :-
Create a new file in TSD and set up the settings for a steel building to have member grade FE410 and concrete grade of M30 as per IS codes. The covers for the members to be as per the following input: -
|

* In order to change the cover thickness, click on the settings option in the ribbon and then under the loading section select structure defaults.
* Select SSL as default type and column cover as 50mm,slab as 30mm and pile cap as 75mm.

* Change TOF as default type and cover for column as 40mm,slab as 25mm and pile cap 75mm

3)
Aim :-
With reference to the input drawing as per Attachment 1, 1.1, and 1.2 and study the steel building plan and summarize your understanding of the plan. Based on your study assume and explain the location of columns and beam and develop a hand sketch for each plan.
Procedure :-
* The first step of any structural planning is to study the architectural drawing given and to check the various properties like geometry, symmetry, stiffness, redundancy etc. After this assigning the column and beams are done before planning for foundation or any other components.
* Columns are to be placed at:
* At or near the corners of the building.
* Intersection of beam or wall.
* Select positions so as to avoid bending moment in beam.
* Avoid larger spans of beams.
* Avoid larger centre-to-centre distance between columns.
* Columns on property line.
* Columns should not be placed at places having door(openings) or at places that takes away the beauty pf the building or at areas having less spaces.

Result :-
Successfully complete the with reference to the input drawing as per Attachment 1, 1.1, and 1.2 and study the steel building plan and summarize your understanding of the plan. Based on your study assume and explain the location of columns and beam and develop a hand sketch for each plan.
4)
Aim :-
Model grid lines and construction levels as per Attachment 1. 1.1 and 1.2. All dimensions are in mm
* The base level to be 500mm below ground level.
Procedure :-
* Open the Tekla structural designer software and click on New option and the new model workspace will appear
* Now all the ribbons and menu bars are visible

* Select window tab and then click on scene content
* The scene content checkbox will appears and it shows tick and untick element in the box

* Click on construction level icon
* The construction level dialogue box appears and name each level like base, GF, 1st floor and Roof and heights was assigned to each level as shown

* Using the grid line and quick parallel grid line option the horizontal and verticals grids was drawn as per the given dimensions in the attachments.

Result :-
Successfully complete the model grid lines and construction levels as per Attachment 1. 1.1 and 1.2. All dimensions are in mm
* The base level to be 500mm below ground level.
