1.Create beam properties for First floor and model the beams.
Ans)
Aim: To create beam properties for First floor and model the beams.
Tools Required:
-> Levels
-> Manage Properties -> New -> Members -> Steel Beam.
-> Grids
-> Beams
-> Properties tab.
-> Validate
Procedure:
• Firstly open the software and change the settings.
• Now click on the levels option which is present at the right side of the display and you will be directed to a new dialogue box where in you have to assign the levels accordingly as show in the picture give below with its respective values,as you have done the assigning part before itself now directly click on the first floor option and you will be directed to the first floor on the workspace.
• Now select the manage properties option and again you will be directed to a new dialogue box where in you have to select and create a new member of steel bars naming it as SB1 assign the values as per our requirement in the general tab such as section design to ISMB, allignment to centre.
• But for now the you can also select the steel beam that is already assigned before for the ground floor.
• Now under model tab select the beams tool.
• Now you can see that there are properties of the beam displayed at the properties bar although you have modified the properties but its good to go for a check for you to feel everything is according to our requirement.
• Now click on the column position for the initial and final point to draw the beam.
• Also use the SB1 for the main beams and SB2 for the intermediate beams.
• Now to create intermediate grid lines between the grids we use the grid tool, so as to place the intermediate beams.
• Now by using the dimension tool mark the dimension of the grid lines.
• Also do validate before each and every step so as to stop the occurrence of errors.
Result:
Hence by following the above procedure we can create beam properties for First floor and model the beams.

2.Create rafter beam on second floor as roof and moment frame action in one direction and add bracings at locations as per the design intent.
Ans)
Aim: To create rafter beam on second floor as roof and moment frame action in one direction and add bracings at locations as per the design intent.
Tools Required :
-> Levels
-> Manage Properties -> New -> Members -> Steel Beam.
-> Construction grids
-> Frames
-> Beams
-> Properties tab.
-> Wall panel
-> Roof Panel
-> Validate
Procedure:
• Firstly open the software and change the settings.
• Now click on the levels option which is present at the right side of the display and you will be directed to a new dialogue box where in you have to assign the levels accordingly as show in the picture give below with its respective values,as you have done the assigning part before itself now directly click on the first floor option and you will be directed to the second floor on the workspace.
• Open the 3D structural now you can find the frames option under the construction levels and when you click on that you can be able to create frames for each grid section.
• Now after the frame work is done you can now go to the structural tab and under that you can see all the frames that you have created, now select any one among them and that will be displayed on the workspace and now make changes accordingly for the construction of roof.
• Now draw the required construction line for the proper roof attachment and now draw the roof with the help of the SB1 that was created earlier.
• After the roof attachment we need to assign bracing for the structure for the stability of lateral loads.
• Now go to the wall panel option under model and select the front and back wall in the 3D structure.
• Now select the roof panel option and assign them on the top.
• Also do validate before each and every step so as to stop the occurrence of errors.
Result:
Hence by following the above procedure we can create rafter beam on second floor as roof and moment frame action in one direction and add bracings at locations as per the design intent.
