Sketch a G+1 residential plan according to Vaastu Shastra and Calculation of Loads as per IS code
Aim & Introduction: To sketch a G+1 Residential plan, according to vastu shastra,List Down the names of the Structural drawings for ease in construction at site. Also, assume the sizes of the structural elements and calculate the individual corresponding loads for the members as per IS-Codes.
Procedure: All the preliminary informations like land size, direction and requirement of number of rooms are first collected from the client. Subsquently, plan is made by following the principal of vastu shastra.
All walls are 9 inches or 230mm thick.
Assume size of column as 0.45mx0.45m and size of beams as (300 x 600)mm and Slab of 125mm.
Assuming height 4M each floor. Assuming total height less than 10M. Hence, wind load not applicable.
Calculations of Individual Correponding Loads:
1.)Slab thickness is 125mm.
Self weight of slab = 0.125x25 = 3.125 kN/m^2
Self weight of wall = 0.23 x 4.5 x 20 = 25.87 kN/m
2.)Column of size (0.45mx0.45mx4m)
Dead load on the column is,
total volume of concrete=0.45x0.45x4=0.81
Unit weight of Concrete=25KN/m^3
Dead loads of column=25x0.81=20.25KN
3.) Self-weight of beams.
Beams=0.3X0.6X25=4.5kn/m
Live load:
As per IS 875 part 2:
Kitchen = 2 kN/m^2
Living room = 2kN/m^2
Toilet and bathroom = 2kN/m^2
Staircase = 3 kN/m^2
Store room = 3 kN/m^2
Balconies = 3 kN/m^2
Bedrooms = 2 kN/m^2
Wind load should be calculated as per IS 875 part3
