Section Modulus calculation and optimization

SECTION MODULUS OPTIMISATION AND CALCULATION:

Objective : To calculate the section modulus of Hood designed in previous challenge. Section of hood will be taken along car 0 planes and then calculated.

What is section modulus :

• Use edit section to take section of hood and save a copy so that it can be projected by using the command shown after this.

• Command by which we can project the section taken as well edit the section according to our needs.

• Let's consider the force is acting from above and calculate the section modulus. Moment of inertia is calculated by using the shown command :

• Let's modify the section and see how the section modulus is modified :

Conclusion: We can modify the section modulus by editing the sketch and get the desired results.
