Section Modulus calculation and optimization
Report on section modulus
I have used Siemens NX cad to finish this challenge.
We first project the 2D section of the hood from the middle and close all the curves and get a closed section before we can find the section modulus.
Section Modulus is equal to S=I/Y
Where,
S is the Section modulus
I is the Moment of inertia,
Y is the distance from the centre of the hood to the extreme outer edge of the hood.

From the given Hood designed, we do the section inertia analysis to find the minimum moment of inertia of this section.

From the above analysis we have,
I = 1.411928987e+04[mm^4]
Y = 440.6mm
S = I/Y= 1.411928987e+06[mm^4]/440.6mm
S = 32.04[mm^3]
On increasing the distance between the outer face of the outer panel and the outer face of the inner panel by 0.5mm we get the following values.

From the increased section by 0.5mm, we do the section inertia analysis to find the minimum moment of inertia of this section.

From the above analysis we have,
I = 1.426984690e+04[mm^4]
Y = 440.6mm
S = I/Y= 1.426984690e+04[mm^4]/440.6mm
S = 32.38[mm^3]
Conclusion:
We can conclude that the Section modulus increases with increase in the cross sectional area of the hood and that the higher the moment of inertia, Higher will be the Section modulus of the part.
