REVIT_Usage of Collabrate tool_Week 6
1) Open an architectural template. Using the Manage tab set project base point and project shared coordinates for the project
AIM: to set base point and project shared cordinates for the project
TOOLS USED:
- architectural tab
- manage
- project cordinates
- shared cordinaates
PROCEDURE:
STEP-1:
- open revit file with architectural template
- Draw grids in the elevation region
- rename the grids as horizontal as A and vertical as B

STEP-2:
- type the command VG
- select the project base point and click ok

STEP-3:
- click on manage tab
- selet the cordinates

- click on specify cordinates

- select one point on the grids and make them as 0'' (standard)

- silimarly do it for east and west cordinates

RESULT:
- hence, project base point and poject cordinate has been set for the project
2) Open another new file but with a structural template. Using manage tab set project parameters the same as the architectural model. Copy the parameters from the architectural model to the structural template or enter the parameters manually into the structural model
AIM: to create a structural template and by using mange tab set the project parameters same as architectural
TOOLS USED:
- STRUCTURAL
- GRID
- MANAGE
- SPECIFY COORDINATES
PROCEDURE:
- open the new revit file with strucutral template
- draw the grids and rename
- click on manage tab
- select the coordinates

- click on specify cordinates

- click on one point on grid and make them as 0'

RESULT:
project parameters has been set same as architectural
3) Re-open the architectural model. Using the tools under the Collaborate tab make the architectural model a central model ( enabling simultaneous working on the model )
AIM: to make architectural model a central model
TOOLS USED:
- ARCHITECTURAL
- COLLABRATE
PROCEDURE:
- open the revit file of architectural teamplate
- click on collabrate tab
- select collabrate
- click ok

RESULT: architectural model is made as a central model
4) Create the Grids Longitudinal and Transverse pattern for the project similar to the task done in Week 2
AIM: to create the grids logitudinal and transverse pattern for the project
TOOLS USED:
- architectural
- grids
PROCEDURE:
- open the revit file
- select architectural tab
- click on grids
- create an offset to create the grids with equal distance
RESULT: grids has been created in longitudinal and horizontal pattern

5) Synchronize the changes from the local copy to the central file of the architectural model.
AIM: To Synchronize the changes from the local copy to the central file of the architectural model.
TOOLS USED:
- COLLABRATE TAB
- SYNCHRONIZE WITH CENTRAL
- SYNCHRONIZE AND MODIFY SETTING
PROCEDURE:
- open the revit file
- click on collabrate tab
- save the file
- select synchronize with central

- click on synchronize and modify setting

RESULT:
the project has been synchronized to central file of architectural tab
6) Open the structural model and using the collaborate tools to save the model as a central file.
AIM: To save the model as central file
TOOLS USED:
- STRUCTURAL
- COLLABORATE
- SYNCHRONIZE
PROCEDURE:
- open the file that has been in structural template
- click on collbrate
- click workset and click ok

STEP-2:
- save the file and synchronize the model and click ok

RESULT: the file has been saved as a central file
7) Under the Collaborate tab, select the grids and levels from the architectural model, and using Copy Monitor try to copy the grids to the structural model. See what happens when the copy monitored grid is moved around in the structural model
AIM: to copy monitor tool in structural model
TOOLS USED:
- MANAGE
- LINK
- COLLABORATE
- COPY MONITOR
- SELECT LINK
- COPY
PROCEDURE:
- open the revit file grids of architectural template
- select the manage link under manage tool bar
- select the strcutural model and click ok

STEP-2:
- click on collaborate tab
- select the copy monitor
- clcik on select link
- click on copy, select multiple and click finish

- adust the model
- hence the objects from architectural tab moved t strcutural tab
RESULT:

8) Create another new file with a construction template. Save the new file as a central model. This file will include both architectural and structural model. Under the manage tab, Click manage links to link both architectural and structural files. Save the file and close all the files.
AIM: using construction template save he file as central model in which architectural and strcural models are included
TOOLS USED:
- constructural template
- COLLABRATE
- SYNCHRONIZE
- LINK
PROCEDURE:
- open the new file in construral template

- save the file
- collaborate the file as central model

- synchronize with central model
- go to manage tab
- click on manage links
- select both architectrural and construcural template

- hence the file is saved in constructural template included te structural and architectural models
RESULT:

9) Are the grids from structural and architectural model matching in the construction template created? If yes the model is set up for project 2. If not work on the shared parameters and linking options under Manage links
( Hint: origin to origin, by shared coordinates or by project base point to base point ) to link the models in an appropriate manner
YES,grids from the architectural and stectural model are matching in my constructural template created.hence , model is set up for project 2
10) List a flow chart of a project tree set up in terms of Construction model, Architecture & Structure model, in this exercise and understand how many people can work on the same project using Revit simultaneously
FLOW CHART ON WORK FOR PROJECT IN DIFFERENT MODELS

Multiple people can work on the same project simultaneously by creating loacal files ,minimum of 6 people can access
