- Manage.
PROCEDURE :
1. Open revit and select architectural template.
2. Select architectural tab and select grids tool.

3. Rename the grids.

4. Select the manage tab and then select select specific coordinate option and then select the horizontal grid and set it to 0'-0".

5. Repeat the same process by selecting a vertical grid line and set it to 0'-0".

6. Save the project as residential building_architecture.

RESULT :
We can set the project base point and project shared coordinates for the project using manage tab in the architecture tab.
QUESTION 2) Open another new file but with a structural template. Using manage tab set project parameters the same as the architectural model. Copy the parameters from the architectural model to the structural template or enter the parameters manually into the structural model.
ANS 2)
AIM : Open another structural template and set the project parameters as we did in the architectural model. Copy the parameters from architectural to structural model.
TOOLS USED :
- Structural.
- Grids.
- Manage.
- Specify coordinate at point.
- Collaborate.
PROCEDURE :
1. Open a new revit file and select structural template.
2. Select architectural tab and select grids tools.
3. Draw horizontal and vertical grid lines and rename them.

4. Go to modify tab and select specify coordinate at point tools.

5. Select both the grid lines and set their specify coordinate as 0'-0".
6. Save the file as residential building_structural.

RESULT :
Now we create a structural template and set the coordinates of the grid lines drawn and save them with appropriate name.
QUESTION 3) Re-open the architectural model. Using the tools under the Collaborate tab make the architectural model a central model ( enabling simultaneous working on the model ).
ANS 3)
AIM : Re open the architectural model and using the tools under collaborate tab to make the architecturalmodel a central model.
TOOLS USED :
- File.
- Open.
- Collaborate.
- Within your network.
PROCEDURE :
1. Open the architecture template which was created before.
2. Select collaborate tab and click on collaborate tool.

3. Collaborate dialog box appears.
4. Select within your network and click on ok option.

RESULT :
With the above steps we can collaborate to make the arcitectural model as central model.
QUESTION 4) Create the Grids Longitudinal and Transverse pattern for the project similar to the task done in Week 2.
ANS 4)
AIM : To create longitudinal and transverse pattern for the prject similar to the task done in week 2.
TOOLS USED :
- Architecture.
- Grids.
PROCEDURE:
1. Open the architecture template using open option.
2. Under architectural tab select grids tool.

3. Draw the horizontal grids at equal spacing say 30'.

4. Draw vertical grid lines at equal spacing say 30'.

5. Rename the grids as per the requirements.

RESULT :
With the above steps we can draw the horizontal and vertical grid lines at eqeual spacing of 30' with each other.
QUESTION 5) Synchronize the changes from the local copy to the central file of the architectural model.
ANS 5)
AIM : To synchronize the changes from the local copy to the central file of the architectural model.
TOOLS USED :
- Manage.
- Synchronize.
PROCEDURE :
1. Open the revit file.
2. From collaborate tab select synchronize with central option.

3. Then select synchronize and modift settings option.
4. Then synchronize with central dialog box appears and click on ok option.

5. The drawing will get synced with the central file.
RESULT :
With the above steps we can synchronize the changes from the local copy to the central file of the architecture model.
QUESTION 6) Open the structural model and using the collaborate tools to save the model as a central file.
ANS 6)
AIM : To open the structural model and using the collaborate tools to save the model as a central file.
TOOLS USED :
- Collaborate.
- Within your network.
- File.
- Save.
PROCEDURE :
1. Open the structural template which we have saved previously.
2. Go to collaborate tab and select collaborate option.

3. Then a collaborate dialog box appears.
4. Select within your network option and click on ok.

5. Save your project.
RESULT :
By following these steps we can open the structural model crated previously and save the model to central file using collaborate tools.
QUESTION 7) Under the Collaborate tab, select the grids and levels from the architectural model, and using Copy Monitor try to copy the grids to the structural model. See what happens when the copy monitored grid is moved around in the structural model.
ANS 7)
AIM : Under the collaborate tab, select the grids from the architectural model and copy them to the structural model using copy monitor.
TOOLS USED :
- Collaborate.
- Copy monitor.
- Select link.
- Copy.
- Paste.
- Paste from clipboard.
PROCEDURE :
1. First open the architectural tab and the select collaborate tab and click on copy monitor option under that.

2. Select the link so that the structural drawing is linked.

3. Select the grids and levels and select multiple and then click copy.

4. Click on finish command.

5. Open the structural template, there we can see the grids and columns in structural template.
RESULT :
With the above steps we can copy the grids and levels from the architecture model to structural model using the copy monitor option under collaborate tab.
QUESTION 8) Create another new file with a construction template. Save the new file as a central model. This file will include both architectural and structural model. Under the manage tab, Click manage links to link both architectural and structural files. Save the file and close all the files.
ANS 8)
AIM : To create new construction template and save it as central model where both the architectural and structural models are present.
TOOLS USED :
- Manage.
- Manage links.
PROCEDURE :
1. open a new file and save it as construction template.
2. Select collaboration tab and select collaborate the file as central file option under that.

3. Click on manage tab and select manage link option.

4. Select both architectural and structural templates and click on ok.
RESULT :
We can create a new construction template and we can add the links where we can achieve both the structural and architectural templates in one file.
QUESTION 9) Are the grids from structural and architectural model matching in the construction template created? If yes the model is set up for project 2. If not work on the shared parameters and linking options under Manage links
( Hint: origin to origin, by shared coordinates or by project base point to base point ) to link the models in an appropriate manner.
ANS 9) The grids of the structural and architectural templates are not matching so we have to match them by selecting origin to origin under shared coordinates.
AIM : We have to match the grids of the architectural and structural template if not matched using shared coordinates and linking options under manage tab.
TOOLS USED :
- Manage.
- Manage links.
- Acquired coordinates.
- Position.
- Relocate position.
- File.
- Save
PROCEDURE :
1. Open a new architectural template.
2. Select manage tab and click on manage links and select structural template drawing.

3. We can see both the grids in the architectural template, but they willl not be matching/ coinciding.

4. Select the architectural grids and select Acquired coordinates and select the architectural template grid.
5. using relocate option select the plave where we can to move the grids.

6. After this process both the structural and architectural grids will will be coincided.
RESULT :
After this process both the architectural and structural grids will be overlapped.
QUESTION 10) List a flow chart of a project tree set up in terms of Construction model, Architecture & Structure model, in this exercise and understand how many people can work on the same project using Revit simultaneously.
ANS 10) In the below flow chart we can observe a tree setup in terms of construction model :
