REVIT_ Scheduling & Estimation_Week 9
1)
Use the shortcut keys in Revit discussed in class to complete the following tasks and list them below
a. Using 3D model create a section box
b. To create similar doors and windows in a floor plan layout
c. To reduce the thickness of lines visible in plan views
d. To apply override settings to a floor in the model section view
e. To increase the range of visibility in a plan view
f. To select the previously selected items
g. To add annotations to the model views
h. To bring the model elements in line
i. To rotate the model elements
j. To move an object to another location
k. To copy a model element
l. To mirror an element about an axis
m. To create an array of model elements
A) The shortcut keys for the tasks mentioned above are :
a. Using 3D model create a section box = BX
b. To create similar doors and windows in a floor plan layout = CS
c. To reduce the thickness of lines visible in plan views = TL
d. To apply override settings to a floor in the model section view = EOD
e. To increase the range of visibility in a plan view = VR
f. To select the previously selected items = CTRL + <- ( CONTROL PLUS LEFT ARROW)
g. To add annotations to the model views = DI
h. To bring the model elements in line = AL
i. To rotate the model elements = RO
j. To move an object to another location = MV
k. To copy a model element = CO
l. To mirror an element about an axis = MM
m. To create an array of model elements = AR
2 ) Using Revit and the project used from week 6 to 8 prepare a schedule for the following
a. Walls
b. Doors
c. Windows
d. Material – Concrete/Wood
A) AIM: To prepare a schedule of the project from the previous model link walls, doors, windows, and materials-concrete/wood.
TOOLS USED :
- View.
- Schedule.
- Schedule properties.
- Schedule quantities.
PROCEDURE :
- Open the architectural template which we have used for our previous week.
- From the view toolbar select the schedule quantities option available.
3.Select all the components like doors, walls, windows, and materials-concrete/wood.

4.Then the schedule tab dialog box appears then select the components that we want to display in the schedules.

RESULT :
We have prepared the schedule of the project for doors similarly we can do it similarly for walls, windows, and material-concrete/wood.
3) Using Revit Calculate area and volume of each room in the model with appropriate room tags applied to each room. Prepare a schedule report for area and volume of each room.
A) AIM: to create areas and volume for each room using Revit and assign appropriate room tags to each room and To prepare a schedule report for room area and volume of each room.
TOOLS USED :
- View.
- Schedules.
- Schedule properties.
- Schedule quantities.
PROCEDURE :
- Open the saved architectural project using the file icon.
- From the view toolbar select the schedule quantities option available.

3.The schedule dialog box appears. then Select the required paraments like area, volume, etc.

4.Then click on ok option after selecting the required parameters.
5.Then we can obtain the room are and volume schedule.
RESULT :
preparing schedule report for area and volume of each room and calculating area and volume of each room in the model with appropriate room tags applied to each room.

4) Using the same schedule using the unit cost rate for materials available in the internet, prepare total cost of materials used in the project
a. Total Cost of Materials
b. Individual Material Take off
A)
AIM: to prepare the schedule of the total cost of material used in the project
TOOLS USED :
- View.
- Schedule.
- Schedule properties.
- Schedule quantities.
- Material takeoff.
PROCEDURE :
- Open the saved architectural template project.
- From the view toolbar select the schedule quantities option available.

3.The schedule dialog box appears.
4.then select the material take-off option available and click on ok.
5.Select the required parameters.

6.Create a cost schedule and calculate the total cost.
RESULT :
We have created a schedule regarding the unit cost of the materials available in the project.

5) Using the concept of Visual Programming discussed in class, list a flowchart for the following scenario
a. How to decide framings for a structure using Dynamo ?
b. If there is no water coming from the pipes
c. If request for money from client has been declined for the project
A)
a)Flow chart for framing the structure using Dynamo

b)Flow Chart for the Pipes when no water is coming.

c)Flow chart for client declining the project request for money.
