REVIT_ Plan, 3D View & Structural Drawings_Project 2

1)  Select the type of structure you want to build from one of the three below
        a. Multi-Unit Residential Apartment
        b. Office Buildings
        c. School

A)  From the given options, the type of structure I want to build is a Multi-unit residential building.

 2)  Assume reasonable assumptions for geographic and location details for your project modeling. Based on assumptions and type of structure selected identify the modeling requirements from NBC.

 A) The geographical and location details of my project are :

    1.  my building comes under residential category and is situated at the center of the city.

2.My project is located near the highway.

    3. The road width in front of my building is 80'.

The height, area, and safety measures will follow the rules and regulations of NBC.

  1. The height of my project is 42' and the road width is 80'.
  2. So my building height is 12.8 m and the road width is 23.384 m, the height of the building should not exceed 1.5 times the width of the road width.

3.In this case, the building height is not exceeding so it is suitable for construction as it can be clearly inferred from the data provided.

3)  Using the structural model, include the following components based on the type of structure selected
        a. Foundation – Isolated / Wall/Matt Foundation
        b. Columns
        c. Beams Connected to Columns
        d. Roof Framing/ Truss
        e. Floor / Decks
        f. Floor Openings for Elevators and Stairs

A) AIM:   To include the following components based on the project like foundation, beams, columns, roof, floor, and stairs by using structural model.

TOOLS USED :

  • Architecture.
  • Structural.
  • Grids.
  • Columns.
  • Shaft.
  • Stairs.
  • Foundation.
  • Beams.

PROCEDURE :

1.primarily open an architectural template and save it as residential building using the file icon.

2.Then draw two grid lines and specify the coordinates as 0'0" for both north-south and east-west using the grid icon.

  1. collaborate the file using the collaborate tab and Save the project.

4.Then open a new structure template and save it as residential building.

5.create a new architectural template and using manage links options add the architectural and structural links

6.Select acquired coordinates and set the links to the current link coordinates.

7.Now by structural template start drawing the structural components of the project.

8.Draw horizontal and vertical grid lines using the grid icon.

9.Select Column option from the structural tab and draw the columns at intersection of the grids.

      10. Similarly draw other structural components like foundation, slabs, beams, and save the project to central file.

RESULT :

we have successfully collaborated the architectural and structural template to the central file and also designed the structural components in the project.

 4)    Using the architectural model, include the following components based on the type of structure selected
        a. Wall Layout with appropriate material and finishing
        b. Exterior façade with fancy finish
        c. Interior partition walls to size rooms
        d. Components to add details to room ( Desk, Chair, Lighting, Plumbing fixtures)
        e. Add components such as stairs Elevators
        f. Have at-least one side of building with curtain walls and glass panels
        g. Include interior and exterior lighting fixtures
        h. Place proper topographic components from outside ( Trees, Parking, Plants) to add details to the model

A) AIM: using the architectural model we are including the architectural components to the previously created structural model like exterior and interior walls, components, and planting.

TOOLS USED :

  • Architecture.
  • Walls.
  • Components.
  • Load family.
  • Ceiling.
  • Floor.
  • Doors.
  • Windows.
  • Staircase.
  • Railings.

PROCEDURE :

  1. Open the architectural template which was created before.
  2. Copy the grids which were created in the previous structure template and copy them.
  3. With the help of the paste icon from the clipboard, option paste the grids in the architectural template.
  4. Select the grids and pin them so that they do not get disturbed while doing the project.
  5. from architectural tab create required levels using any of the elevation view.
  6. Go to virtual graphics settings and select custom in annotation off the grids.
  7. start creating walls using the grid lines.
  8. With the help of floor icon lay floors to all the levels.

  1. using walls tool from the architectural tab add interior partition walls with thickness less than the exterior walls and adjusts its parameters.

  1. Add stairs with the help of the stairs tool and copy them to all the required levels.

11.add railings to the stairs to make it more realistic.

  1. Add windows and doors to the interior walls using tabs in the architecture tab.

  1. use load family icon to load the components required for the project and add them in the drawing using components tool and add the plantings in the similar way.

  1. now click on the camera view option available in 3D view icon take the pictures of individual rooms by adjusting by the position of the camera.
  2. Save the project and all the changes done in the architectural template will be saved to the central file.

RESULT :

With the help of the Architectural tab, we have added all the required architectural components in the drawing and saved it in central file.

5)     Provide set of drawings in architectural and structural model to list the following details with categories and appropriate sheet templates included
        a. Floor Plans with Annotations
        b. Elevations
        c. Sections

A)

AIM:  To provide the structural and architectural models and creating sheet templates to include floor plans, elevations, and section views.

TOOLS USED :

  • Insert.
  • Sheets.
  • Load families.
  • Edit sheets.
  • load image.
  • View.
  • section
  • properties
  • project browser

PROCEDURE :

  1. Go to the view tab and select the sheet tool.
  2. Sheet of required dimensions can be selected and if we require any other dimension we can use load family.
  3. We can change the details in the sheet with the help of the properties browser.
  4. drag the selected views which we wanted to be present on the sheets and save it then it will be saved in the project browser.
  5. Follow the same process and add the structural and architectural models into the sheets.
  6. similarly, create a sheet template of floor plans with the same steps into the sheets.

7.similarly, create elevation and section view plans by dragging those views to the sheet and changing its details.

RESULT :

we have created sheet templates that include floor plans, elevation, section.

6)    Using the Rendering settings, Render images of 3D model produced and include the rendered images to the drawing sheets
        a. Rendering from interior rooms
        b. Rendering from out showing topographic features
        c. Rendering through structural framing

A)

AIM:   To render the images which were capture by the camera view, for example like the interior rooms, topographic views, and structural framing.

TOOLS USED :

  • Render.
  • Region.
  • Style.
  • Scheme.
  • Sheet.

PROCEDURE :

  1. primarily open the saved project.
  2. open the 3D view and open the picture we want to render which was created by camera view.
  3. then go to view menu and click on the render option, Render dialog box appears.
  4. Select the region option and crop the region we want for the image.
  5. We can change the scheme, styles, and lighting options and click on render.
  6. We will get the rendered image that appears more realistic and can be used for a better presentation of the project.

 RESULT:

with the help of rendering options, we have created the rendering views of different rooms which made our model more realistic.

7)    Print the set of drawing sheets created and submit the drawings from the architecture and structure model.

A) AIM: To print the set of drawing sheets created and submit the drawings from architectural and structural model.

TOOLS USED :

  • File.
  • Print.
  • Setup page.
  • Select the plotter.
  • Print.

PROCEDURE :

  1. select the views and go to the file menu and click on print.
  2. A print dialog box appears.
  3. Change the settings on how we want the sheets to be printed and click on the print option.

RESULT :

 printing of drawing sheets created.

NOTE: AT PRESENT I DONT HAVE A PRINTER SO I'M UNABLE TO PRINT THE SHEETS.
