Reinforcement detailing of Columns from ETABS output

Aim:To provide longitudinal reinforcement for the two column from foundation to terrace level.

• Open the Etabs model which was given
• Select A3 and B3 columns and right-click and click on shown selected objects only

• Then click on the Run Analysis button for the analysis of the model

• Then click on concrete frame design

• To view the shear reinforcement click on concrete frame design and from the drop-down button select display design info and from that select shear reinforcement

For the column 7 at the intersection 3A

• The max Ast of the column is 7200
• Provide 16bars of 18 dia
• For stirup provide 10mm dia at 100mm spacing

For the column 8 at the intersection 3B

• Column size is taken as 450*650
• The max Ast for the column is 5046mm^2
• So provide 16bars of 20mm dia for the column
• For the stirup provide 10mm dia bar with 100mm spacing

Result: Longitudinal reinforcement details are provided for the two columns. The details are provided as per special confining reinforcement provision of clause 8.1 of IS 13920 - 2016.
