PROJECT REPORT
SUNSEEKER PREDATOR YACHT - MODELLING AND RENDERING
THE OBJECTIVE of this project is to design a yacht through CAD and bring realistic previews out of it.
INTRODUCTION
- The following project will take you to the entire procedure of designing a yacht.
- Starting with the positioning of blueprints of ideation drawing to modelling of various parts in Solidworks and also the features used during the process are explained.
- Later those parts are mated together and entire sunseeker predator yacht is assembled.
- The final rendered images are created in Photoview 360 and Visualize as well.
DESIGN METHODOLOGY
The approach towards modelling goes by creating each part of the yacht using tools and features in Solidworks. The dimensions are kept accurate and closest towards the sketch. Later all parts are defined together and assembly is done. Lights, cameras, decals, scene and background are set and rendering is done at the end. The same is illustrated mannerly in the following flow chart.

DESCRIPTION
We will go through the entire procedure of modelling this yacht in the following sub-parts.
- BLUEPRINT SETUP : Blueprints are the images taken of ideation sketch from different orientation i.e. front, top, bottom ,side and back view. The modelling process starts with setting up the blueprint images in a proper manner, taking into consideration the orientation and dimension of the model as per requirement.
- Front view goes to the front plane, side view to middle plane, top view to top plane and set two planes for bottom and back view as well.

- PROPELLER : This is a rotating fan-like structure that spins through engine power and propels the entire body.
The features used in modelling are :
- Revolve : It is used to get a revolved part through a defined sketch over a specific axis of rotation.
- Loft : This is used to create a complex structure between two sketches. The cross section of the generated solid body varies in dimenson in between two sketches.
- Fillet : It is used to make a circular face of any solid edge with some radial dimension.
- Cut extrude : This feature is used to eliminate some material from a solid part with the help of a sketch.

ASSEMBLY
The assembly is carried out by importing all the parts and mating them with eachother in proper manner like they have to be. Some mating steps are shown under. Doing that, our yacht is ready for the final render.

FINAL RENDER
After the assembly is done, decals are added to the surfaces. Also, appropriate lights are added and camera is set for a better view angle. To show it more real, a scene/background is added, so the final render gives the best output possible. Here, the rendering is done in Photoview 360 and Visualize as well. Some of the renderd images are added below.

CONCLUSION
We started with ideation drawings, converted them to 3 dimensional part models and then assembled them together in Solidworks. Later we added some lights, cameras and scenes and got the final rendered images from Visualize and Photoview 360. By following this procedure, we created entire yacht model from scratch.
