Project - Analysis of a practical automotive wiring circuit
1) Battery, Ignition switch, Ignition coil,Starter, Distributor, Breaker, Generator, Current and voltage regulator.
2) a) Battery: It is the power house of the system. It supply the electricity for the components.
b) Ignition switch: It is the switch to on/off the supply to the ingnition coil.
c) Ignition coil: It provide the high voltage current to the spark plug.
3) Selectiton of fuse is not only depent on the load but also depends on other factors like the type of loading, type of circut etc.
But in general we can say that for a continuous load the fuse rating should be around 125%-135% of the total load. Hence the fuse rating is around 12.5A - 13.5A. The next standard size is 15A.
4) Equation for the battery capacity is:
Battery capacity = Energy/voltage
= (power x time)/voltage
= (500 x 1)/12 [Assume time as 1 hr]
= 41.6 Ahr
5) The two tail lights and the two instrument lights are connected in parallel, because the have 2 nodes in common
6) Starter - Ammeter & Gas tank - Fuel gauge connection is in series since they only have 1 node in common
