Project - Analysis of a practical automotive wiring circuit
1. The major elements in the figure of automotive wiring diagram are,
- Battery
- Generator
- Starter
Battery in the vehicle is responsible for powering all necessary electrical currents to a vehicle before it starts. This includes providing energy to the ignition, fuel systems and starter itself. if the vehicle battery is dead, the vehicle won't start.
Generator (Alternator) is used in the vehicle when the engine is powered on the generator takes over, is also provides the charge to the battery that keeps the vehicle running.
Starter is the component that is directly responsible for starting the engine. The battery provides the power that is needed, but it can't start the engine on its own. Instead it relies on the specialized function that the starter provides in the rotating the flywheel and activates the crankshaft to throw the engines pistons into motion
2. The purpose and working of three elements in the automotive wiring diagram are,
- Battery: Working of car battery, car batteries run on chemical and electrical energy. There is an electrical circuit connected to the outside of the battery that charges the battery and allows electrons to flow. There are also chemical susbstances within the battery that form chemical reactions with each other and the electrons. electrons act as the subatomic particle that activates the battery, allowing it to start the cars engine.
Purpose of the battery is in the vehicle is responsible for powering all necessary electrical currents to a vehicle before it starts. This includes providing energy to the ignition, fuel systems and starter itself. if the vehicle battery is dead, the vehicle won't start.
2. Horns: Working of horn, Horns are the metal diaphragms that vibrate when a vehicle is in motion. it produces sound electrically using a thin mtal disc and an electromagnet or solenoid, as the solenoid gets energized or triggered by the button, it exerts a force on the metal disc.
Purpose of the horn in the vehicle is to blow a sound to public to aware of the vehicle.
3. Generator: Working of generator, A car generator is a dynamo, it is able to produce electricity through the rotation of tightly wound fine wires in a magnetic field.
Purpose of the generator is used in the vehicle when the engine is powered on the generator takes over, is also provides the charge to the battery that keeps the vehicle running.
3. Fuse rating can be defined as the current need to blow or break the fuse. when a fuse has blown it removes electrical power from an electrical circuit. The fuse rating is usually on the side of the fuse. Here in this case if the total load is 10A the fuse rating will be between 10A to 15A, this is because the load in the circuit will be 10A, and this may varry at the time of engine starting and an inrush current may flow at different time, the inrush current comes into play when we suddenly use the passing of headlight, using AC in full speed etc. so the fuse rating for a 10A load battery will be 12A.
5. In the automotive wiring diagram, the two elements which are connected parallel to each other are Plate light and Dome light. Parallel circuits are commonly used in automotive lighting circuits. A parallel circuit has several unique charecteristics, there is more than one path for electric current. The amount of electric current is equal to the sum of the individual branch currents. and also the loads can be operated on their own in a parallel circuit.
6. The two elements which are connected series to each other are Ammeter and fuse. The ammeter is used to measure the current flowing through the circuit, so the current should flow properly inside the ammeter to give an accurate result. And the fuse are always connected in series with the component to be protected from overcurrent, so that when the fuse blows it will open the entire circuit and stop current through the component. So the ammeter and fuse are connected in series.
