Project

AIM:

Prepare a technical report explaining the model properties under different conditions & comments on the results.

ATV:

An all-terrain vehicle (ATV) is defined as a motorized off-highway vehicle designed to travel on four low-pressure or non-pneumatic tires, having a seat designed to be straddled by the operator and handlebars for steering control.

STUDY 1:

The CVT model consists of a signal builder, generic engine, motion sensors, vehicle transmission, vehicle body, tyres and solver configuration. the cvt subsystem includes transmission block, input and output shaft inertia and motion sensors. vehicle body subsystem includes vehicle body block, double drum brake and tyres. the initial engine speed is given as 2100rpm, mechanical rotation for driven pulley and driver pulley as 0.8 and 0.7 . mass of vehicle is 250kg and contains 2 axles wich connects 4 wheel accordingly.

INPUT SIGNAL:

a signal builder is used to give input for brakes and throttles.

CVT INPUT:

TORQUE vs ENGINE speed curve

OUTPUT FOR CASE 1:

VEHICLE SPEED:

these graph shows the variation of angular velocities of input and output shafts which differ with respect to the gear ratio.

CASE 2:

SIMULINK MODEL USING DASHBOARD:

it can be seen in the graph that velocity increases considerably when throttle is 1 brake is 0.

CVT SHAFT SPEED:

STUDY 2:

SIMULINK MODEL WITH LOOKUP TABLE

CVT BLOCK:

in here the gear ration input to CVT is provided using a lookup table.

CVT GEAR RATIO

LOOKUP TABLE VIsUALIZATION

CONCLUSION:

Thus we have analysed successfully BAJA ATV with CVT and recorded outputs(vehicle velocity and shaft rpm) wrt to variation in input throttle and brake.
