Project - 2 - Meshing on the suspension Assembly
Aim
For the given assembly, check for the geometrical errors and mesh with the given element Quality criteria. After meshing the component the thickness has to be assigned for mid surfaces. Use tetra elements to model non-uniform thickness components.
Procedure
Step 1
Did the geometry clean up for all the components and for the tire and rim the target value is different and other components are different values given.
Step 2
For the tire and rim the quality criteria are different, the minimum target valve was to pass with some cons. I suppressed those con and generated the tria element mesh and cleared the element failure using improve and split tool. Further moved to the solid mesh use tetra rapid mesh. I couldn't find any collapse elements.
Step 3
I found a simple uniform thickness component of spring, so it can be mesh by 1D element type with the help of the article I performed into 1D mesh.
Step 4
I found 2 more uniform thickness components on the strut. rearrange the quality criteria then create the mid surface using offset. then using the best Mix element type generated the mesh and cleared the quality issue using improve, cut, split, number +/-, etc. the thickness assigned for the component.
Step 5
There were many non uniform thickness components, for those components using the element type tria created the mesh and then cleared the elemental failure using the improve and split option. further moved to the solid mesh generation using Tetra rapid mesh then cleared the collapse elements.
Step 6
The necessary connections are provided to the component. used RBE2, bolts, seam weld connection some of the contact points left as its.

Conclusion
The given suspension assembly has been meshed as per the quality criteria and did the necessary connections between the components. In this project I used a 1D, 2D, and 3D element type and some of the connections have been done.
