Project 2 - Crush analysis of aluminium Tube

Aim:

Aluminium Tube is placed between one rigid wall and fixed at the bottom end. The moving rigid wall is made up of Steel material. Tube is assigned property of Aluminium non-linear alloy. Both the components are meshed appropriately and assigned proper contacts. Tube is having dimension 30mm diameter, 1 mm thickness and 200 mm length and rigid wall has 40x40x20 mm . The moving rigid wall has velocity of 30, 40, 50 and 60 m/s respectively.

Procedure:

1)Explicit analysis has to be carrried to understand the time dependent variation of deormation.

2)Select the Aluminium non-linear alloy and Steel materials.

3) Create the geometry of the aluminium tube and the rigid wwall using the spaceclaim as per the given dimensions.

4)Use the explicit analysis module to perform the crushing tube simulation.

5)assign a default mesh size.

6)Provide the velocity to the rigid wall so move against the tube.

Results:

30m/s

40m/s

50m/s

60m/s

Conclusion:

With the increase in the velocty the tube is getting crushed which can be obserevd.
