Project 2

Part to injection mold = CPU FAN BEZEL

Draft Analysis
In draft analysis, All surfaces were checked at 0.5 degree draft angle and red surfaces are those with negative draft angle. So, this can be ignored and the creation of core and cavity blocks can be done.

Scale
As the plastics material is ABS and taking into its shrinkage % of 0.6. So, scling the part accordingly to 1.006 %.

Parting line
Parting line separates the core block and cavity block. Using the parting line command to separate the core block and cavity block.

Shut-off surfaces
All the open sections are required to be closed before creating the mold.

Core Parting surfaces

Cavity block made from cutting a block with cavity parting surface.

Sliders for external undercuts
Sliders for making up the external undercuts.

Ejector pins
Ejector pins are provided to eject out the cooled molded material off from the core block.

Ejector back plate and Ejector plate

Washer and Bolts

Locking mechanism

Cooling channels
Water is fed into these channels to allow the cooling of the core and cavity blocks.

Air Vents
Air vents are given for easy dissipation of trapped air and gases.
It is done to prevent burn marks and also for cooling the cavity and core blocks.
