Challenge

Project 1 : CFD Meshing for Tesla Cyber Truck

Aim: For the given model mesh the wind tunnel.

Procedure:

1. Open the model in ansa.

2. Do Topo and geometry cleanup.

Since the model is symmetric split the model and delete half and work on it.

Also Assign PID.

Assume:

Target length Body/Glass = 4, Min/Max length = 1 / 6

Target length Tire / axle = 3 , Min/Max length = 1 / 5

Skewness = 0.5

Max angle trai = 0.7

3. Mesh the model.

4. Do the symmetry option.

5. Create a area for wind tunnel.

a. Measure the length of car and car width

Length X = 5906 mm.

Width = 1880 mm

b. Create a reference point for wind tunnel.

From Front end = 4X distance

Rear End = 6X Distance

Side End = X Distance

Top End = 3X Distance

Bottom End = approx near to tire.

From Front end = 4 * 5906 + 2618 = 26242 mm

Rear End = 6 * 5906 + 3133 = 38569 mm

Side End = 5906 + 940 = 6846 mm

Top End = 3 * 5906 + 2033 = 19751 mm

Bottom End = 500 mm

C. Create a curve using this points and create Wind tunnel faces.

d. Change the length parameter and mesh the wind tunnel.

6. Define the volume and delete the other volume other than Wind Tunnel.

7. Mesh the volume.

Note: The Tetramesh was not done due to limitation of system.

Conclusion: CFD Meshing of Wind Tunnel has been done successfully.
