Project 1 : CFD Meshing for Tesla Cyber Truck

Aim:To perform CFD Meshing for Tesla Cyber Truck.

Objectives:

1. To check and solve all geometrical errors
2. To assign appropriate PIDs.
3. To perform meshing with the suitable Target length and element Quality criteria.
4. Wind tunnel

Procedures:

• Open the given model in asna

• After doing topo for the whole model we can get actual single con

• Check the geometry and do necessery topo cleanup.

• Create PIDs

Surface meshing:

• set different quality criteria for each PIDs as follows:skewness 0.7

PIDs	max length(mm)	min length(mm)	target length(mm)
transparent roof	5	2	4
windows	5	0.5	3
light	5	0.5	3
rims and wheel	5	0.5	3
body	7	0.5	7

freeze other PIDs except body

• Creation of wind tunnel:

The measurment for wind tunnels are as follows:

• Consider length of car as X
• Keep wind tunnel at 500 mm distance from bottom of car
• Length of wind tunnel from front of car should be 4X
• Length of wind tunnel from back of car should be 6X,
• Height of wind tunnel should be 3X

Measure the length of the car:X=5700 mm(approx)

Creation of point ,curve and surfaces:

Creation of new PID s for wind tunnel:

• top surface and base surface given permiter length and macros as 100 mm ,20mm respectively.
• side surfaces must be assigned geometric spacing

top :target length 100mm

min and max length:80 mm,120 mm

base :target length 20mm

min and max length:15 mm,25mm

Volumetric mesh:

• Performed autodetect:

• required volume:

• Delete unwanted volume and perform remesh.
