Project 1 : CFD Meshing for Tesla Cyber Truck

Objective:- CFD meshing of Tesla cyber Truck.

Steps;

a) First we perform a TOPO Cyber truck model.

b) After performing the topo function we get the actual model with cons.

c) Next step is to perform the mesh perimeters for the achieving fine shape of truck model if there is any uneven shape present.

d) Next step is checking the single cons and triple cons present in model by applying wirefram to the truck model

As the single cons and triple cons are the errors for performing the meshing we has to resolve these errors.

e) We should also perform a geometry check for checking any other errors are present or not.

f) The next step is to remove all the geometry errors to perform meshing.

In this step we may delete the unwanted surfaces, may create new surfaces. Also there should not be any local volume to be form.

g) We should delete the extra hot points which may create the different shape.

h) In this model we can use symmetry option also, but the shape of the truck is not that much complex and having less number of single cons and triple cons therfore we go for directly to solving the geometry errors.

j) Now we apply PID to Body and tyres.

k) After checking geometry we found that there is no any single cons or geometry errors are present.

then we go for the surface meshing first.

l) Befor surface meshing we first set the quality criteria for the different PID

1) for Body - Target length is 4 mm

2) for tyres- Target length is 3 mm

3) For glass- Target length is 4 mm

We select the minimum target length as target length is less more is the accurate results we found in CFD analysis.

m) First we isolate the tyres and done meshing on it by using target length as 3 mm. With 56 Off mesh.

n) Then next we go for the glasses with target length as 4 mm. With zero Off mesh.

Meshing of body by applying Target length 4mm.

o) We done surface meshing 0f the total PID

p) Next step is generating wind tunnel for volumetric meshing. for generating wind tunnel we should know the dimensions of the wind tunnel.

The dimensions of wind tunnel are as follows

consider the truck length = x

then front face of wind tunnel is at 4x distance from truck front point

the rare face of wind tunnel is at 6x distance from truck rare point

side faces of wind tunnel are at x distance from side of truck

the top surface of wind tunnel is at 3x distance from top of truck

and base surface is at near to the tyre surface.

According to that we first measure the x distance i.e length of truck.

The length of truck (x)= 5738 mm

first we creat a point from bottom of truck to the base surface of tunnel

Front face at a distance of 24724 mm from the base point.

Rare face at 36010 mm distance

similaraly we find all the points and then creat a curve to find the suface.

after that we offcet the base surface to the top surface by considering above distance as mensioned for top surface.

then we creat a wind tunnel by creating new surfaces.

Next step is surface meshing of the wind tunnel.

After that we set the spacing limit

Next step we mesh top and bottom surfaces

Next we mesh remaining surfaces one by one

in this way we mesh all the surfaces of wind tunnel

Next step is to define the volume of wind tunnel and we delete the unneccesary surfaces.

Ansa detect the automatically require volume

Next step we delete all unneccesary volume
