Project 1 : CFD Meshing for Tesla Cyber Truck

Aim:

The aim of the project is to check and solve all geometrical errors and Assign appropriate PIDs and Perform meshing with the suitable Target length and element Quality criteria.

Objective:

To check every geometrical errors in the given cyber truck model and to perform respective topological clean up in it and to assign PIDs ( Propertty identifiers) for given cyber truck model.

To surface mesh each PIDs with different mesh target lengths, which is as follows,

  1. Body - 3 mm
  2. Windows - 3 mm
  3. Front lights - 3mm
  4. Rear light- 3mm
  5. Rims and tyres - 2mm

Procedures:

Step 1: Importing the geometry for topo clean up.

Step 2: View by shadow display mode and make topo in faces. This helps to so;ve some single cons in the model.

Step 3: Check manager check the single cons, double cons and other errors in the model.

Step 4: Creating new surfaces to close the single cons.

There are certain single cons which are rectified using the below steps.

Step 5: Deleting the unwanted surfaces and if needed rebuild it.

Step 6: All the single and double cons are rectified.

Step 7: After completing the topo clean up, check onc ethe geometry check.

Step 8: After topo clean up the model asssigning the PID to the regions.

Step 9: Providing the surface mesh to the model by giving mesh length.

Window:

Tyres:

Body:

Front and rear lights:

The mesh length over all the PID are given to the model.

Condtructing wind tunnel to the model:

The front and rear domain, 4*length of the car model(x) = 4 * 5895 = 23580 mm and 6 * 5895 = 35370 respectively and for the top domain, 3*height of the car model(y) = 3 * 1534 = 4602 mm, distance taken from the top surface of the car model.  .

Bottom surface:

Min mesh length : 15

Max mesh length: 25

Top surface:

Min mesh length : 80

Max mesh length: 120

Finally the wind tunnel is created and meshed with certain quality criterias.

Conclusion:

The Tesla cyber truck is checked and solved all geometrical errors and Assign appropriate PIDs and Perform meshing with the suitable Target length and element Quality criteria.
