Week 2 Challenge : Surface meshing on a Pressure valve
Aim:
To study surface meshing on given geometry, Making three different models with 3 different target lengths.
Objective:
For the given model, check for the geometrical errors and perform Topology cleanup accordingly. Set three different target lengths as three different cases and mesh the model.
- Target length = 1mm, 3 mm and 5 mm (i.e. 3 cases)
- Element type = Tria
Apply any one target length from the above at a time for the entire model as One case. Submit 3 different models for 3 cases.
Write a detailed report on your meshing process and also mention which case is giving good results along with the reason.
Procedure:
Step 1: Importing the Challenge2_valve.ansa file to the ANSA.

Step 2: Geometry check to the model.

Step 3: Topo clean up to the model. In view of above geometry check creating new face to the errors occured.
Faces -> New -> Existing surface -> select cons -> Middle click -> Selecting faces of partcular cons

Step 5: Using exixting surface tool to close the cons.

Step 6: Closing the surface by creating new faces to overcome the single cons by COONS in the new option. LOOP tool is used to select the entire connected cons in the model.

Step 7: Closing the face by using the COONS tool.

Step 8: Similarly all the surfaces are closed using the new tool. Finally all the surfaces are closed and unwanted surfaces are cut using the CUT tool in the faces.

Step 9: After all topology clean up is done to the model. Check the errors in the Model using check manager and execute the error.

Step 10: Then creating PID to the model.

Step 11: These is how all the PID are selcted for meshing.

Step 12: Assigning mesh length(parameters ans macros) to the model.
Case 1: Mesh length = 1mm and Element type = tria

Output:

Case 2: Mesh length = 3mm and Element type = tria

Output:

Case 3: Mesh length = 5mm and Element type = tria

Output:

Conclusion:
Finally the pressure valve is meshed successfully.
