Project 1 : CFD Meshing for Tesla Cyber Truck
Aim/Objective
- Surface Mesh the given solid with different grid lengths for each parts
- Create wind tunnel for CFD applications and surface mesh it
Procedure
- First geometry checkup is done
- Overlapping sirfaces are deleted
- Surfaces which does not have the influence on the shape of the body are removed in order avoid forming new unnecessory volumes, in this case wheel and body have share common volume
- Surface that are poped out of the car body are deleted using intersection option
- Single cones and triple cones are fixed
- Wind tunnel is created in such a way that the enterance to the centre of car is 4 times the length of the car and the exit of the wind tunnel is 6 times the lenght of car apart from the centre of gepmetry
- The top surface is made 3 times the length of the car and bottom surface is made 10 mm below the tires
- Then surface mesh is done each part
- Checked if it meets the quality criteria
- The side surfaces are given the gradual growth of factor 1.1 in mesh size from bottom to top so the mesh is finer where the car lies
- Checked for any intersections
- Moved on to volume meshing
- Found volume between car and wind tunnel which is the volume that we need

Results

Conclusion
- Wind tunnel was created
- Surface meshing on car body and wind tunnel is done
- Extracted volume between wind tunnel and car which is set to do volume mesh
