Project 1
Objective :-
To mesh the given model using the given target element length, which satisfies all the quality criteria provided. The model provided is of a dashboard panel of a car which is to be worked.
Tools used:-
- Offset – Skin
- Insert hot-points
- Release cons
- Paste cons
- Faces-cut
- Faces-delete
- Faces- new
- Faces – proj cut
- Faces- offset
- Mesh-generation – best
- Shell-mesh - reconstruct
- Shell-mesh – smooth
Procedure followed:-
Exporting the file provided for meshing.
As we can see that the file is having all the single cons, which will not help to perform the meshing. Performing Topo command.

Geometry checkup for any errors in the component.
Performing mid-surface using offset command. Here auto mid-surface can’t be performed as the component is not a closed volume and for auto mid-surface a closed volume is required.

Assigning the new mid-surface the a PID and also assigning it thickness. The thickness to be assigned is 0.6 mm. Again Geometry check after the mid-surface.

Post geometry check it is clear that no unchecked faces exist. Hence we can proceed to mesh the surface.
Before meshing we have to check for any discrepancy or random edges in the model, and while checking we found some errors at edges. So cleaning it up.

Clearing the face errors at edges.
Assigning length to the perimeters for meshing i.e. 4mm.

Setting the quality parameters, And also the mesh parameters.

Meshing the part of the component individually.

Reconstructing the parts which needs reconstruction, so that it can satisfy the quality criteria.

Checking for failed elements and cleaning it up to satisfy the required quality criteria.
Conclusion:-
The meshed dashboard component is obtained which satisfies all the given quality criteria.
