Project 1
Part A:
Vll=208 , F=60 hz, Ls=1mH, Cd=1100e-6, Load=2.2e3;

Source inductance:

Vin:

DC link capacitance:

load resistance:

OUTPUTS:
Output current and voltage:

Average output voltage :
The average output voltage can be seen from the waveform as 157.4V

Diode blocking voltage :
The selecton of diode should be with a blocking voltage of -250V as this is the maximum voltage required for diode and has a safe margin.

The input current and input voltage:

FFT for input current requirement:

The dc component for input current is 0.049A and a phase angle of 61.2.
The diode choosen should has characteristic of blocking vltage as 300V and current passing as max 20A which can be observed from the graph. so the choosen diode is The STTH2003 is a dual center tap fast recovery epitaxial diodes suited for switch mode power supply and high frequency DC/DC converters. Packaged in TO-220AB, TO-220FPAB, I²PAK or D²PAK, this device is especially intended for secondary rectification.

PART B:

Vin:

Load side emf:

Pulses generation;

source inductor:

load inductor:

alpha=20 degree as given in the question:

Blocking votage across thyristor:

Output curent and output voltage:
From the output current graph we can see that the current is discontinuos in nature:

Input current and voltage:

Input current FFT:

The average input current is 0.02A and thd was high with 163% anfd phase difference of 60hz.
The choosen thyristor which can handle 1000V and 5A is BTW67 in RD91 .
