Hood design-Week 2

HOOD:-Hood is a closure consist of outer & inner panel where inner panel provides strenght while outer panel gives austhetic look to the hood.

hood/bonet assembly is consist of outer panel,inner panel,latch and striker, hinge and support rod or gas stay.

while designing hood we have to consider following parameters.NVH, support rod or gas stay mounting.latch and striker position with the help of trajectory circle,hinge axis,deformable brackets,pedestrain rating and EURO ECAP Rating.

HOOD OUTER PANEL with hemming relief at corners.which is provided by styling team.which gives austhetic look to hood.

HOOD INNER PANEL Which is done with the help of master section. which gives strenght to hood.design is done in such a way that at the time of frontal crash load should divert away from passanger towards piller of vehicle. cut out are provided for pedestrain safaty.and emboss have positive Draft angle greater that 7 degree for

1-HINGE AXIS:-By constraining hinges parallel to an x-axis and touch constain to hinge emboss. we can creat axis for trajectory circle.

2-TRAJECTORY CIRCLE:-Trajectory circle is the trajectory of hood opening and closing.

3-PERPENDICULAR TO TRAJECTORY CIRCLE TANJENT:-With the help of this perpendicular line hood can get right closing and opening at latch and triker lock.
