Hood design-Week 2

HOOD DESIGN

AIM : To design Car Hood in NX CAD using the Master section and According to the design consideration  

OBJECTIVE : TO Design the Outer panel, Inner panel and create a whole Assembly of Outer panel, Inner panel with Hinges & Striker

GIVEN DATA : Master Section

Design consideration of hood are as following 

1.Hood Opening Angle : While designing the hood this is an important criteria of which we have to take care of as hood opening angle varries from country to country based on the average Human height in respective country.

2. Support Rod : The Curvature of support Rod should not exceed more then 35 mm. The Mounting of the Support Rod should always be placed at the oppsite side of the battery pack mountng.

3. The distribution of forces : The design of the inner panel  should be in such a way that the during the collision, force distributes in the outward directin as shown in images below. so that the impact on the Driver and Front Passengers will be Reduce.

COMPONENT :

1.Hood outer panel with Thickness = 0.75

2. Hood inner panel with thickness = 0.75

3.Reinforcements with thickness = 1.5
