Hood design-Week 2

OBJECTIVE:- HOOD DESIGN

Here we design Hood with catia v5, firstly we open All the CAT.part in Assembly workbench which are give.

Then we start work on outer pannel and make class A surface

then we start work on inner pannel:-

1. we give offsets first on 1.75 second on 4 mm and third on 25 mm in downword direction then give blend make inner surface image is attach below

2. then start working on emboss to increase the strength of inner pannel

3. then make mechanism for stricker and the make embosses for stricker and hinges for assembly.

EMBOSS:Sheet metal embossing is a stamping process for producing raised or sunken designs or relief in sheet metal. This process is carried out by means of matched male and female roller dies, or by passing the sheet or rolls of metal between rolls of desired pattern.

HEMMING:Hemming is a forming operation in which the edges of the sheet are folded over other part or simply folded in order to achieve a tight fit. In car part production, hemming is used in assembly as a secondary operation after deep drawing, trimming and flanging operations to join two sheet metal parts (outer and inner) together.

Then working on hemming by sweep.
